The D850 is a great camera . I own one . Also bought a Z6 as a backup , however I find myself using the Z6 more and more. Look at mirrorless, lighter, almost was fast and your focus points cover the entire sensor. The latest firmware update (3) certainly makes the the tracking really good.
Did you hear about the man who lived in mortal fear of negative numbers ?
He would stop at nothing to avoid them !
My most sincere apologies
Hi,
I am in the same position as you . Got a D850 and then purchased a Z6 . At first I was not that impressed with the auto focus but the last two firmware update have now put the Z series in a different league . The tracking, eye auto focus are brilliant and will track the image, though the view finder across the whole frame, unreal. You will get photos that you cannot get with the D850 , which I love . The new tracking firmware on my Z6 works well with F mount lens and the adapter. Suspect that there will be blinding performances from the native Z mount lens .
You might want to have a look at a Youtube video by Jared Polin on the new firmware update on the Z series , its about an hour long and tests it very well. JP states that he is of the opinion that the Sony system is better with a better choice of fast lens . So you takes your choice .
Hi,
I have numerous old SD cards and copy to them in camera from the XQD card.
I also backup the SD cards to a "WD wireless passport pro". Am very careful with numbing the folders on the SD card so that each day is stored on separate folders and on separate cards. So far so good but ..........
I use a D850 and find that the autofocus is fast but not as fast as the D500. However the D850 is an excellent all round camera and is full frame. If you can afford both then go for it , if not you will get a lot more out of the D850.
You have my permission to spend the money. Good luck
Thanks for that, hysterical.
I also use this, very good and I prefer it to time machine
Apparently these people used to a very high hit rate. Quite surprising on the idiot level of people. This scam and it’s variants have been going on for years. I remember it from over 20 years ago. I suppose the internet has wised people up a bit
I am trying to work out if I inside the asylum or outside it.
Your friend is so correct
Personally, I use a WD passport pro to back the SD cards.
Then I keep the SD cards as a second backup.
This is practical for me as I shoot to XQD cards and then copy these in camera and to an SD card.
My understanding , for what it’s worth is that every time you save a JPEG the compression effects the photo.
I have assumed that you are saving JPEGs. This compression process will even cause artefacts to appear.
Will you be playing golf ?
Both are great but if it has got to be one then Ireland, its a no brainer.
Very tourist friendly and will go out of their way to help . Scots are great people but a little more insular and more process driven .
