I am sure that some UHH'er can tell me the name of this plant. Lost the little name tag that they have on plants when you buy them. I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Just Fred I did a very fast correction using fill selection in PSE 2021. I know its not great but maybe it would be a starting point. I would finish using the clone tool but not having any idea what your main subject looked like without the reflection I wasn't sure excatly where to clone. You have so many good sections at least you have a selection.

I took the course and applied many of the things I learned to my advantage. I not learned the basics but many useful applications that I did when I later became a professional and owned my own studio. It really gave me a good foundation in photography. Had the framed certificate on the wall of my studio with other awards I was proud to have received.

There was a post last week about this same subject. One of the replies mention a program call Pixbim. I tried it on their free trial and liked it so much I purchased it. Not expensive, $39 and I contacted their customer service several time with questions and receive a prompt response. I'm not at all good with computers and they gave simple advice. I have used it on people and landscape B&Ws and was very impressed. It is easy to use and and you can easily change any color in the scene. I even remade colorized photos of some that I had done back in the 80's with oil tinting and was in some ways more pleased with the results than what I did back then. I was a pretty good oil tinter in those days making many come back customers. If you want to try it the web is https://pixbim.com.

[quote=flip1948]You shouldn't be asking this in the general photography discussion group, but my PlantNet app says it's an American Rubber Plant.[/quot

Thanks for your help. The level of knowledge on UHH is outstanding. I was not even sure where to start to look. PlantNet will be so helpful

A friend got this and ask what it was. Of course I did not have an answer but UHH has help me before and I am sure it will again. Thanks to any one who can tell me what it is.

Many years ago I had a customer that brought in an old B&W of the home and yard where they were born. They wanted it in color so I oil tinted it. When I tried to do the sky it looked very bad and I did not know what to do. Fortunately I had another customer come in that I knew very well that was a professional artist. I ask her what I was doing wrong that made it look so bad and she immediately said that it was the sky. I had only blue in the sky and sky is not just blue and artist know to add a very small amount of color from all over the scene to the sky. I did what she said and it looked great. I have used this since then in situations like yours and it worked even in digital.

Thank you for your kind words MCHUGH... And yes Dean Collins was not only a highly skilled Master of the camera he was blessed with brilliance in knowledge base transfer... I purchased all his video courses and have reviewed them over and over again. Always learning something new each time.

Today's YouTube "Photographic" Gurus are more focused on recruiting followers and providing affiliate links... Both of which are revenue centric...

btw, in regard to your vintage copy of CS-3, if you the person you purchased it from was honest and did provided an unregistered copy you likely can install it on a virgin i.e. clean build of Win 7... The failed install attempt will have populated your registry with a myriad of Adobe parameters even if you successfully uninstalled the first attempt.

If it is a pirated copy sadly you're stuck... Try to get a refund from the seller... If you put it on your CCard you may be able to do this up to three or maybe even six mouths after the sale (depending on the CCard). I've had to go that route once before... the seller tried to fight this but I keep all correspondence, bill of sale etc... My CCard provider credited my account... Helps to have a significant other who is an account...

Please stay safe...
Thank you for your kind words MCHUGH... And yes De... (show quote)

I too got his programs and made the sail cloth diffuser screens and scrims. Used his color gel on black background many times in portraits. On the CS-3 I got rid of it and went to PSE 2021 it does everything I need for my amateur work these days. No longer do any professional photography.

Always enjoy your work and comments about photographs. Your comment on Dean Collins was right on. I was fortunate enough to me him in person back in the 80's at program he was doing for East Texas Professional Photographers. Great photographer and teacher.

After photographing a wedding the brides sister and mother asked me to come with them for a special photo of the bride before she and her new husband left for their honeymoon. Of course I said I would take what ever they wanted so they took me back to the master bedroom and bath, all full of ladies and I photographed the bride as she undressed and bathed. On another wedding which was a very big one I had the nightmare of a photographer concerning equipment. In a thirty minute span of time I had a sink cord go bad, a flash go bad, a lens go bad and a camera go bad. The odds of something like that happening is unbeliveable. I always took a complete backup of all the photographic equipment I would need and was so thankful; I had to use all the backup that day.

It's been many years now but someone brought in a oval convex glass mounted print. I'm certain it was the most expensive way back then. It was also welded into the glass. Our idea was to just make a copy photo, but the convex glass picked up all the reflections from 180 degrees around. We finally resorted to having an airbrush artist work on all those reflections. I still wouldn't have any better recommendations, except PhotoShop.

If you ever have to do that again put lights on each side at 45 degrees with a polarizing filter on each oriented the same way and then put a polarizing filter on your camera and dial away most if not all the reflections. With this setup you can control reflections on all sorts of surfaces including metal.

Kodak makes a product called Photoflow. Soak the print and glass in Photoflow and it will separate.

The Photoflow always worked for me back when I was in business. Don't get in a hurry and let it soak overnight it needed. Do not try to pull it off let it flow off into the Photoflow solution. Rinse it after it is off with water and dry it between two towels with a little weight on them to make sure it drys flat.
