I took this one yesterday night at 18:15 with my little Canon PowerShot SX50 HS. It was the FIRST time I could get close enough. I had try with my 70-300 mm but it never worked. I took this one through my living room window ! I just LOVEf the full moon...
LOVE and not LOVEf :)
with everything that is happening in the States, than we should not go to the States either... My thought : go where the Spirit leads you... the planet Earth is there to be walked on.
Enjoy ! So happy for you, and a little envious... :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWUIM_Z_5cgThis is where I spend most of my time when I go to India. A short film by Ludwig Bispink (2011). If you look at my books published on Blurb (Internet) in 2009 and 2011 : "India through the Lens of a Global Shutterbug - L'Inde vue par une photographe globetrotteuse" et "Varanasi - Agra - NĂ©pal - you will recognize many scenes in this movie... I am ready to go back !
Good advices...
Also, if you take a train, take the most expensive ticket. You should have a locked room. Even Indian people chain their luggages to their seat because there are many thefts in trains and train stations. Once, I had put my netbook under my pillow to make sure it would not be robbed, but my head was close to the train window. Thank God there were bars on that window because someone tried to pull it out while I was sleeping and I did not wake up. I saw that it was partly outside in the morning... Just take care of your stuff... and have a great trip ! The colours are beautiful, the women so graceful, there is a lot of noise, smells, barking dogs in the night, but you will never forget this journey. You probably will want to go back...
I spent 3 months in 2009 and 2 months in 2011 in Kolkota, Varanasi, Agra, Bodhgaya and Nepal, took thousands of pictures, published two books on Blurb with those pictures and paid 10 rupees (about 7 cents) to a Saddhu once. I am taking pictures on the street constantly, ask permission if it is for a close-up, and never had any problem... may be because I am a woman ? may be because I don't look like a rich tourist ? I don't know...
You all made me laugh so hard ! I had tears in my eyes... Thanks for the jokes. But as some of you said : blonds or greys, many of us did it once in their life ! Have a great week-end !
I could in a very short time :)

Went to my first camera club meeting locally a few weeks ago. Things sure have changed since the ol' days of film. Learned a lot at that meeting though much of it was over my head and will likely be that way for some time to come. Nevertheless, I did get snippets of helpful information and I'm certain I'll get even more during the next meeting in December 1. Nice meeting and nice folks.
Hi Ron, I was a member of the Toronto Camera Club for about 6 years until I moved to Ottawa. I have learned so much with the Club. I went to the Judging Session nights and learned a lot there even though we were sometimes exasperated by the way the judges were commenting on our photographies. But overall, it was the best thing I did for myself as a photographer. Good luck and have fun !
You made me laugh my head off ! Thanks...
