Deep space exploration looks for an answer to David Byrne's question: "Well, how did we get here?" It also seeks an answer to dark matter and dark energy. No one knows, these 2 might have a huge impact on human civilization.

What? No rusty rockers? How can it be a British sports car with intact rocker panels? One friend had at 64 and the seats did not move, they were bolted to the floor. Another friend had a 67, or whatever was the last year they were imported. Its seats were on tracks like most cars.

I think it was Triumph I once saw advertised for sale. The ad mentioned "usual rust."

Very nice shots Kim. I envy your compositions and exposures.

A few years ago Apple's OS went to 64 bit addressing. This "broke" my PS CS5 as well as several other apps. I still have my old Macbook whose processor is far too slow for the recent operating systems. It still has CS5 so I use it there, and it still has iPhoto which I like over Photos. I did spring for Photoshop Elements for this Macbook and I'm more or less happy with it. It's selection tools are more powerful than CS5 tools, but they're more complex. Oh well.

I find the discussion of weeks and other time measurements amusing. Time slows down near and across the event horizon.

It is getting worse. I think it's BMW that now has subscription fees for some car options, like heated seats and steering wheel. If one doesn't renew (pay) the subscription BMW turns off the feature via satellite radio communication. Automakers see this as an excellent revenue source. We'll see about that. Home appliances next?

If "difficult to steal" means least stolen, part of the reason might be low sales for those mentioned. The 2 Hondas and the Camry are huge sellers, lots of them around to be stolen. So make and model might not be a good critereon.

Perhaps all of you are aware that Humphrey Bogart's character, Rick, in the movie Casablanca never NEVER says "Play it again, Sam." He does say "You played it for her, now play it for me. Play it Sam."

great shot. The cross ram dual 4 bbl carbs can be thought of as a tunnel ram on its side, not standing up. Or a tunnel ram can be thought of as a cross ram standing up.

Street legal? My guess is it depends on the exhaust. Cherry bombs or Flowmasters for mufflers? Then yes if driven conservatively (what fun is that?).

Speaking of cross rams, 3 cars were being driven from Seattle to Detroit IN JANUARY. A State Farm thing, the drive. They stopped in Bloomington, IL where SF's HQ is. I was chatting with the driver of the Chrysler 300G and he said the car was fine, drove fine, cross rams, dual quads, January in the Rockies, and all. Got 14 mpg even.

Speaking of "fungus among us" Dick Biondi died a week or so ago. You had to be in reach of the WLS radio signal in the early 60s for that to make any sense.

Great shots! Some time KT will have to post a tutorial about where he finds all these cars and how he gets such lovely photos.

I saw an article on Hemmings or Hagerty about a guy that had a 340 Barracuda and had it rebuilt to 99.9% stock. Engine had .030 overbore and tuned headers if I remember right. Before putting the engine back in the car after the rebuild they put it on a dyno and it pulled something like 356 horsepower. Advertised as 290, HAH! Marketing. Who would buy a 383 with 330 hp if the 340 made 350? Generally all the engines smaller than the RB series were rated less than actual brake horsepower, marketing. Who'd buy a 360bhp 440 if a 383 made that much?

I read somewhere that all 340s were high performance engines, no 2bbl, no regular gas 340s (until the smog rules tightened?). I suppose the 360 came along for the smog rules.

The 413, 426, and 440 are "raised block" engines, RB. To accommodate a longer stroke, the deck height is a raised a little bit. Or some such. In 1959 or 60 there was an RB 383, just to confuse things. The factory couldn't make 383s fast enough so Chryco had the RB line make a 383 2bbl for the DeSoto and Chrysler Windsor.

I always enjoy these. The lion shot is not far fetched. We had a pair of lions that close to our Land Cruiser in RSA. Just keep everything inside the vehicle, the lions won't notice the people, they'll think it's one big monolithic thing, not a Land Cruiser full of lunch.

sure, it has a Chevy Small Block. CSB's are numerous and therefore cheap. All sorts of parts are available and relatively inexpensive too. Most hots rods like this one have CSBs. Or did have 20+ years ago.

Smoke. Only planet visible here, central Ill., is Venus. Sun, moon, and Venus are the only visible lights in the sky. Generally.

I think you can pay Tivo a one time fee for the life of the product. This is to keep the guide updated, or some such.
