I recently moved to Guam for my newest duty station. It's similar to Hawaii in some ways, but definitely has it's own culture and feel. There is quite a bit of history here, from the Japanese and Americans in WWII, the Spanish from the mid 1500s through 1898, to the ancient Chamorro (the original inhabitants of Guam). Here is a sunset from a bridge the Spanish built as part of an incomplete road that was supposed to run from their main seaport of Umatac in Southern Guam, to their capital, Hagåtña, in central Guam. The second picture was taken just on the other side of the bridge. I'll try to post a few more pictures I've taken since moving here over the next few days. I edited these a little in Lightroom, with my limited knowledge and ability. Please feel free to comment on what I could do better, either in Lightroom, or with the picture in general.

Trygve: The first photo is so colorful and beautiful... Your second one is also but the first one I really liked the whole composition...

1. Original image with normal PPing.
2. Second image with more PPing and adding the horse.
3. Third image in B/W with a blue tint for an old western feel.

Which do you prefer and why?

ImageCreator: I think I will go with #1, and the reason I say this, is the horse looks out of place to me. I think that is because the barn looks abandoned and the horse is inside of the fencing...

....big cats from the Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre near Plettenberg Bay in South Africa. Just a couple more shots of the big cats as seen in my previous post, hope you enjoy the smaller kitties in this set too.

I was going to bin the first shot but changed to b/w.

The white lion is not an Albino, it carries a recessive gene which is responsible for the lack of pigmentation.

The seldom seen Serval is a wild cat native to Africa. Their primary prey includes rodents, birds, reptiles, fish, frogs and insects.

The Caracal also a wild cat native to Africa is typically nocturnal and lives mainly alone or in pairs, it preys on small mammals, birds and rodents. It can leap higher than (3 mtrs) 9.8 ft and catch birds in mid-air.

The Marabou stork (undertaker bird) is a massive bird, large specimens are thought to reach a height of 152 cm (60 in) and a weight of 9 kg (20 lb). A wingspan of 3.7 m (12 ft).

Today we visited Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre near Plettenberg Bay in South Africa. Three years ago I took the male and female Cheetahs for their early morning walk. Could only book a private visit to photograph the cats today, due to my big broken toe being a pain......

It was great to meet the two Cheetahs again, did they remember me? I was allowed to go inside the Cheetah enclosure.

The White Lion is not an Albino.

Hope you enjoy these pussy cats.

These wolves are in a sanctuary so they are nothing like the wild wolves of Yellowstone. We were hampered in that we only had small holes in the wire fence to shoot through and we couldn't start shooting before 10.30am. but still, I had a great day and learned a lot.

Steve: You certainly did capture them well Great job, thank you

While testing out my new telephoto lens I got lucky and at the Huntington Beach Pier they were having a USA Surfing contest going on. The waves were less than perfect but the surfers are all very talented and made up for the poor conditions.

Brent: Beautiful set... Such action your photos let me feel like I am doing the surfing and that is as close to Surfing I will ever do.... Great action and Great shots!!!!
