These wolves are in a sanctuary so they are nothing like the wild wolves of Yellowstone. We were hampered in that we only had small holes in the wire fence to shoot through and we couldn't start shooting before 10.30am. but still, I had a great day and learned a lot.

👍👍
They look fairly similar to the Wild Wolves of Wisconsin; fat, furry, and fed well!

In spite of limitations, I think you got some lovely photos - - can you give the name and the place of the sanctuary, and were you told the breed of wolf ???

The UK Wolf Conservation Trust is home to ten wolves living in four groups.

The Arctic Pack - Sikko, Pukak and Massak

These wolves came to us from Parc Safari in Québec in June 2011.

The Beenham Pack - Nuka, Tala and Tundra

Born to Mai and Motomo in May 2011, these young wolves have grown up to become our new generation of ambassadors. Nuka is Male
Canis lupus occidentalis, Northwestern wolf
Born 3rd May 2011 at the UKWCT

Siblings: Tala (F), Tundra (F)

Mosi and Torak

Mosi arrived in May 2006 from Dartmoor. She was joined a few days later by Torak, from the Anglian Wolf Society.

Mosi: Female
Canis lupus occidentalis, Northwestern wolf
Born 27th April 2006 at Dartmoor Wildlife Park

Mai and Motomo

Mai arrived with her sister Mosi from Dartmoor Wildlife Park in 2006. She was deposed as Alpha by Mosi and subsequently separated from the pack. Motomo arrived in December 2010 as a companion for her.

Mai is a Canadian wolf and her ancestors came from the Mackenzie River watershed area. Her name means "Coyote" in the Navajo language.

Former wolves of the Trust
We have a page dedicated to those wolves who are no longer with us.
