Sorry I refuse to use Lightroom, it loves to grab hold of every picture I have on the computer and organize in it's own way. Capture One is (as noted by Mudshark) the program that is used by all the big names in photography, and the users of the very high end cameras.
My only criticism of it wold be that it tends towards a default of slight saturation of colors, but that is easily fixed inside the program it's self, you can also use this program to tether your camera to it.

yes trying it out at present, I have used Capture One for about 4 years now and also Silkypix, DXO,Photoshop Raw, Corel Aftershot, and Canon's software. My favourite is Silky.

Anything specific about Capture One you wanted to know?

I have shots taken with the Canon 28 @1.8 and my Tamron 28-75@2.8
The Tamron blows the Canon away, way more so than I ever expected.
The Canon is carrying a lot of discoloration at 1.8 and soft focus. at 2.8 its pretty good at 5 its fine but it's given me no reason to become the owner of it, pity really I was looking forward to a nice sharp prime, oh well how do I get the pics to you if you would still like to see them?

my 2 bad experiences were
1.the 50mm f1.2 L-USM bought new went back twice for back focusing.
It was hardly usable at 1.2, and was great at 2.8 and over but that was not the point of buying such an expensive prime.

the other was the 24-70 f2.8 L-USM. it was just never ever crisp crisp sharp, but I never realized it till about 3 years after i had been using it all the time on a 20D, then different Rebels, then I bought the 70-200 f2.8 with stabilization cost a lot but oh wow what an eye opener that was for sharpness.
sent the 24-70 back to Canon for a check up and was told it needed a piece of body, something had broken in it and the bill was going to be about $600 bucks (no warranty left) I paid the bill and it was better when I got it back but I had bought a Tamron 28-70 in the mean time and was very happy with it, so I just sold the canon on.

I ordered the 1.8 from Amazon will be here today. I'll get sample shots and check forward and back focusing, color and sharpness.
my direct mail is
cvcalderbank@gmail.com
cell is 765-255-1143, in Indiana

I'll send you sample shots if you would like them. If I don't like the lens it will go back and nothing lost. Over the years of buying even Canon very high end lenses I have had some bad ones and I view most of them (Canon or not) with some suspicion.

I have had an addiction to camera gear bags for years.............I have 5 of them and never use one of them all too heavy or something.................Now I also have 3 cool boxes and 2 cool bags, very light very cheap and very good external protection. I use the old bags to provide internal protection compartments..............
