From the screen you posted, it looks to me to be a 32 bit win 7 vs. a 64 bit Win 10 issue. Do you know if the "G Squad" looked into that? It seems like the program is looking for a 64 bit driver of some sort.
Welcome to the forum. You mentioned Longwood Gardens, so I'm assuming your somewhere near South Eastern PA. To help sort things out, you may want to take one of the classes at Chester County Night school. "Photography Boot Camp". Really good course for getting back into or starting photography.
I know, as a lot here know, what its like being retired and getting a handle on purchasing equipment.

Hope that helps.
Legionella was discovered after an outbreak in 1976 among people who went to a Philadelphia convention of the American Legion. Those who were affected suffered from a type of pneumonia (lung infection) that eventually became known as Legionnaires' disease.
Depends on the computer. Mac or Windows? Operating system Win 7, Win 10?
Here's a quick tip for Win 7:
1.Click Start, type windows easy transfer in the Start Search box, and then click Windows Easy Transfer in the Programs list.
2.Follow the instructions to transfer your files and settings.
Simple enough?

I agree with bdk, 3rd party ink is the way to go if your happy with the printer. Inkfarm generally is one of the good quality and low cost options. I've use their inks in my Canon printer for over 2 years. never had a problem.
