This is the Swallowtail Butterfly that I staged for its eyes the other day. I staged this session to showcase its proboscis which it quite long and they keep it curled up in neatly wound concentric circles when they are not using it for feeding.

You inspire me! There was a dead little. beetle on my lanai who is now in a little jar of isopropyl alcohol. That was what I had but know from reading your posts it is not the best. I have a macro lens and Nikon 850 and will see what I can do. Thanks!

You are having fun and others are sitting around complaining! Good for you! Like your shot, too.

Another winner and visit to college biology - never found the botany part to be as interesting as the zoology but you make it come alive! 👏🏻

Enjoyed your photos of a beautiful area. Did you get a chance to disembark along the way? Thanks! Dennis Johnson

Very nice! Northern MI is like no other! Are the Uppers still around? I have one of their autographed caps from 25+ years ago.

Fun in the yard with plenty of butterflies and hummingbirds. Summer has arrived in southern Maine when these guys show up. If you look closely at the second hummingbird pic you'll see that she's helping me by watering the garden. I must say that these little guys are much easier to photograph when they're perched. Please be safe,
Doug

This is a black kind of fuzzy little weevil that I found borrowed deep in a flower blossom during my walkabout in the park. I found a brown one several weeks ago so this may be a related variant for other than their colors they look quite similar. This is a focus stacked image staged at 5X magnification. Again, the blue background is created using a sample paint swatch placed behind the specimen.

I really enjoy your images! Add another winner to your collection.
