Thanks, I'll try the green button, but I think I have done that before. Hope it works, thanks. I am not by my computer to let you know.

The biggest issue I have with Lightroom is the photo import procedure. Why can't they just do it like all other programs.

Oh, and if anyone can help, my Lightroom opens and fills the entire screen, covering all my computers menubar as well as all the program icons on the bottom of my Imac. I have looked for the feature to reduce the size but have not been able to find it or do anything to shrink the image. Any ideas?

Likewise, I have used my CanonMX922 with ink cartridges from Amazon, the vendor is Ink4works.com. The cartridges work out to be just under $1 apiece when you order 36. Sometimes they go on sale for $29.99 for the 36. I have used these for over 2 years now, only had an issue with one cartridge out of probably 75 used so far. The one cartridge just plain didn't work, so I threw it out. The prints are great, particularly since I calibrated my Imac and printer. There is some banding, but it mostly disappears as the ink dries. It is most visible on glossy paper, not matte. As for the colors, just fine, at least for my needs. It is also a scanner. The printer cost $93. Oh, and the print cartridges have lights on them which blink when the ink is about to run out, and the cartridges are see through so you can see the ink level. They last just like the OEM one.

I have had the same problem numerous times. I also had bad color reproduction. My findings, like many, monitor brightness being a big one. I have way too much light in my room, and thus had my monitor brightness near the top. So, two things now, room brightness. Third, florescent lights in the room wash out the color on the printout. I got a table lamp with and LED bulb and the colors popped right out. Two other things, in the case where you may have two or three different gray tone cartridges, are they all working properly. I had that happen too. And lastly, it is best to use the brand of paper that is the same as the brand of printer. The finish on the paper is designed to work with the dyes in the printer cartridges bought as OEM. It is really a mess of variables, and it is hard to get them right.

I use Google Drive instead of the Apple Cloud. I had some issues with Apple's Cloud system, most likely my fault. Every once in a while the files I save don't show up when I access the files from a different computer, not sure why. So, I have resorted to backing up my work on a 256gb SD and keep it in my laptop bag. It has all my recent photos, and any other personal files I might need backed up in addition to the cloud.

Lot's of funny replies to this one. Thanks for the morning laugh. I have had 7 root canals, with caps, plus two implants. I think of having 9 teeth missing as the alternative, but then I would own the D810 or 5dsR. I have a Canon 53MKIII now, but will be upgrading soon. I keep reading good things about the D810, and have watched a bunch of You Tube comparisons. But then I have about 10 lenses for Canon. Tough call, damn the teeth though.

I too had way too much light in the computer room. I have overhead florescent bulbs. This is fine for normal computer work, particularly when I have to get into the file cabinet or do a lot of text printing. I do have the screen brightness up pretty high. But when I do photo work, I have a desk lamp with a gooseneck stem and have it focused on the table top, away from the monitor. I use a 60w equivalent daylight LED bulb. I turn the monitor brightness down to the level where I had calibrated it at, and then go from there. Then there is the printer. I have an HP8700, which is fine with photo's but often the colors and brightness do not correspond with the monitor, usually darker and less colorful. So, I just ordered a colormunki photo to calibrate the monitor and printer together.
Interestingly, when I take my photos to Walgreens, the output is beautiful, just like the monitor, so I do that quite a bit, particurlarly for 8x10's and 11x14's.

The first thing I would do it talk to Apple. I had a similar issue four years ago with my Apple. The circuit board by the power plug area had cracked. I sent in the computer, got it back in two days, they replaced the entire logic board and didn't charge me anything saying there was a quality control issue on record for these boards and they were replacing them for free.

Otherwise, yes, the retina display, max out the RAM, and go with th I7. It is a dream.

Canon MX922. About $90, 5 cartridges which can be bought on Amazon for about $1 apiece (third party). The cartridges have performed flawlessly. OK on photo's but not a high end photo printer. Wireless. I have two, and bought one for a friend of mine. I am planing on buying yet another for my daughter for xmas.

I have a 27 inch Imac which I love, but because photography is a big hobby and interest of mine, I am really wanting the new 5K 27 inch. I'll get the 32 gb ram, and the I7 processor. Is it justifiable, don't really care, it's a hobby. Far cheaper than a fancy car.

I just bought a camera bag from Amazon. Paid $20. The quality is fine, sure, won't last 50 years, but I don't really care. It had plenty of pockets, good closures, and a good shoulder strap. My only complaint is it is a bit too small. But there is a trade off, as too big you will tend to carry too much which then becomes a problem in the field with weight. Biggest point being you don't have to spend a lot and if need be buy two inexpensive ones of different sizes, one for the short day shoot, and one for a more intensive shoot requiring more lenses.

No, a circular polarizer will likely not remove the reflection, or at least not likely.

Didn't read most of your post. Your title was enough for me. The answer is absolutely if you are a serious photographer. For instance, I have several deer in my yard right now, early in the morning, so low light. I can use a 24-70 2.8 lens, and probably get away with it. But I would not use a 100-300 4.0. It simply would not gather enough light, so I would be stuck with high ISO.

Like a lot of things, the right tools for the job are very important in getting the best result. Sure, you can use a point and shoot too, and may get picture suitable for you. I bought a point and shoot recently and am very disappointed with the noise levels. Every P&S I read up on seems to have to same issue under low light, with ISO above 3200.

Great computer. Only store applications on your internal drive though, use an external drive for the rest.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I bought the camera purely as a lower risk of being a target for theft than using my 5dMk3 and expensive lens, when traveling in places that are of concern to me. I will be shooting in the daylight for the most part, so I will be using a low ISO. I have found that the Topaz DeNoise software I have does a reasonable job at reducing graininess. I do not plan on printing any or very few of my pictures, as I have a tendency to just look at pictures on the computer other than some of family, in which case I use my DSLR anyway. I'll see how things go, and if I find something worth sharing with my experiences, I will. Perhaps imbed a few pictures too.
