Here is Citrus County Florida we have some resident Bald Eagles Who live and forage within the county landfill. When ever a load of garbage comes in the Bald Eagle and other birds go into the garbage and paw around looking for food. They always seem to come up with some kind of morsel to east. The dumping area is done in a pit so the birds coming in and out are lower allowing you to get an on top photo. The Eagles in some case are very dirty. used a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon 100-400 f 4.6-5.6L IS USM lens. used TV and set Shutter Speed to 1000, ISO 400

I just bought a Tripod Called MEFOTO http://www.mefoto.com/
It come with a ball head and it is light weight and works fine. I bought the MeFOTO GlobeTrotter Tripod. It provide an exceptional combination of materials, construction and features.
Great for both compact and full frame cameras with larger lenses, plus converts to a monopod in seconds. Only 16.1" when folded yet 64.2" extended and can support 26.4 lbs. Available in both aluminum and carbon fiber.
So far it work wonderful and it fold up small enough to carry on m backpack
I bought a EOS 6D with WIFI and it works slick. I was out side the house taking photo of birds. I logged into my sister in law network and started taking photos and each one went on my SD card and my IPhone. It communicates very well. The only problem is you have to turn it off because it will deplete the battery fairly rapidly. In reality WIFI can only be used if your close enough to log on to a network. The backyard would work fine. I really don't know if the extra expense is worth it.

Flight shot of a Bald Eagle
I went to check on a nest site I had found. I was checking to see if the eaglets were getting to the top of the nest. I found that they are still to small. However I got dad leaving the nest.
Leaving the nest
To bad they were to late to get down here this year
Yesterday here in central Florida is was cold, rainy and just miserable. I went out to Ozello a favorite place of mine to see what was about. I found the tide was way out and the birds were working on the remaining fish. The Blue Herons were among them. These were all shot with my Canon EOS 6D with my EF 500mm f/4L IS lens with a 1.4 extender

I have one and love the low light capabilities as well as the full frame sensor. Sometime you will capture a photo you like but the subject is quite far away, well the photos from the 6D will allow a huge crop with a little bit of noise. you just remove it with LR. One draw back is the burst speed FPS is as high as my 7D but who cares. It just takes fabulous photos
I looked at Mefoto http://www.mefoto.com/products/globetrotter.aspx
