Hello,
This question is for owner/operators of a Canon 6D. I would really like to know your thoughts, likes, dislikes and anything related to this camera as I am considering this for my first full frame camera.
Thank you

For its cost, you cannot hardly do any better. It is an excellent, dependable image-making machine, with exceptional low-noise in lower-light capabilities. My wife just got one, and just loves it (she shoots 200-300 frames a day).

I have the Canon 6D and have owned it for awhile now. I also own the Canon 50D. With the 6D I get the full use of my 24-105 Canon lens as a wide angle lens at the low end. I am very happy with the camera and it has all the features I need. You should understand that the 6D is Canons entry level full frame camera and you should do a comparison with the more expensive full frames to see if it doesn't have some thing you need/want. I am happy with my 6D and have not found anything with it I don't like.

My only issue with the camera is that it doesn't have an onboard flash. Beside that, the camera is outstanding.
I moved from a T3i to a 6D in November. I love the image quality and the high ISO, low light capabilities. I make regular use of both the WIFI and GPS. I have not missed the articulated display which the T3i has and the 6D does not.
I recently tried to catch some bird in flight photos and I can see where this camera might not be the best for fast action stuff. (Neither am I for that matter). If you plan on shooting a lot of sporting events or anything that requires fast focus follow, you might want to consider other options.
For what I do 99% of the time, it's difficult to imagine a more perfect camera.
The attached "Lola" image is cropped from a photo taken at ISO 2000 in a, not too brightly lit, living room using a 70-300 mm L lens hand held (no flash).
The "Farm House image was shot at 3200 with illumination from the Christmas lights and a little moon light.
You probably know this but......if you have some EF-S lenses, they will not work on the 6D.
Love mine too. As has been said above superb performance at high ISO settings in low light. Amazing the amount of detail captured by this camera. Highly recommend.
Check out our fellow Hog, Joe F.N. He shoots some terrific Bird photos with his 6D. I also know a woman who shoots incredible Rodeo photos with a 6D. Have seen her work in national magazines.

I checked out Joe's smugmug site and......it looks like he gets great bird shots no matter what camera he's using. I saw some taken with a 7D (which is pretty much designed for action), and a 50D which is not.
I have fallen into the usual trap, blaming my camera for my poor results.
Anyway......in the hands of a competent user the 6D delivers outstanding technical image quality.
The 6D is the best Canon has to offer! I shoot one myself at times, and I am a Nikon guy.
I own and use the Canon 6D. It has built-in GPS -- a highly useful feature especially if you shoot landscape. It controls noise well. It has a smaller size and a lower weight than, say, the Canon 5DII. The 6D fits the hand nicely.
It has an easily understood menu for setting and controlling a dedicated flash unit.
The ISO button on the top plate sits where the index finger ergonomically finds it -- not a small consideration particularly if you shoot in Manual mode and want to make a slight adjustment to the ISO setting.
It does have a slower top shutter speed of 1/4000 second (instead of 1/8000 second) like, say, the Canon 5DII. But for my part I've not shot even a single photograph at the top shutter speed of my Canon cameras. So I don't miss it, and you probably won't, either.
All in all, the 6D strikes me as a winner. After using it for a while, I sold my Canon 5DII. The 6D replaced it.

I believe none of the Canon full-frame cameras come with a pop-up flash.

You are absolutely right.
I've had the 6D since July 2013 and am still exploring it's capabilities. A minor complaint (very minor) is that the built-in HDR function will only allow 3 frames and the image setting must be jpg. Some other full-frame cameras will allow more frames and do it in raw.
Having said the above, I am quite happy with this camera.
Hi Peteto. I'm Joe F.N. I don't have the time now but I'll get back to you with information and a mini review of the 6D this evening. Ace, I'm going to hire you as my agent. Thanks guys.
