What cracked me up is that I recently bought a lens. Consequently, most all the ads interspersed throughout this discussion are for lenses :)
There is a difference between reflected light and incident light. However, if that is a light meter, it is measuring reflected light.
I am slightly confused about USM vs STM. In one sentence you indicate USM is better for video, in another you say it is too noisy for video.
OK - from all the responses I have decided that the 80D with a good lens is my choice. I didn't mention that wi-fi is something I could use, and I don't too much care for GPS.
I want to change cameras for 2 reasons. The focusing in live view is very slow in low light, if it works at all. Second but less important, there are times when an articulating view screen would be most helpful, like when the camera is held above your head in live view, although this comes up rarely. I don't know what BIF means but I haven't shot action.
I rarely print my photos so full frame is not important to me. I have not only lenses, but a 550EX strobe (which also works with my SX50)
I am undecided as to which camera to upgrade to from my T2i, whether to choose the 7D MK II or 80D. Any advice???
My only disappointment with the 50 is that minimum aperture is f8 limiting depth of field. Other than that, it is a welcome alternative to the bigger DSLR !
