Ladies and Gentlemen: The discussion of kit lenses and getting better lenses and glass vs. plastic is interesting, however, it skirts the issue of how we become the best photographers with the equipment that we have. We all go to sleep and dream of buying the best lenses. Why don't we go to sleep and dream of getting the best results with the equipment we have. I have thought about this issue and I have decided that I want to push myself and my equipment to the limits of its' abilities. I have seen some great stuff taken by people with cellphones.
Thank you Dixiegirl. I should have named the topic, "Sea Horse Races".
I believe that this is the epitome of water sports.

Check for model number. If it is B003, it is an older model having been replaced by model B008. The B003 is longer, heavier and slower focusing. Look at the model B008 and compare. The B008 is now selling for about $450 I believe. Check on line for B & H and Adorama prices for both models. I have the B008 and it is great.
I was going through a drawer and found a long lost friend, a Canon 199a flash unit. This unit was used with my Canon AE-1, in the film days. I still have the AE-1, but thought that the 199A might be used with my T2i. I have heard of voltage problems etc. Anyone know the real story?
The best camera in the world is the camera that you have with you when the opportunity for that "killer" shot arises!
In 1961, I took the 20th Century Limited from Chicago to New York City. As the train approached the city, the conductor announced, "Grand Central Station". When did they change the name?
I recently had the pleasure of attending the bat mitzvah of my granddaughter and the reception in the evening. The photographer was terrific and was kind enough to answer all of my questions while he shot his pictures and I shot mine. While he was taking a series of family group pictures in poor light, I noticed that he was using a flashlight (torch for those in the UK), and shining it on one person in the group. I asked why. He told me that it made focusing easier. I now carry a small flashlight in my bag. Incidentally, his pictures came out great. My pictures were also pretty good.
Video worth your time.

Take a look at the Tamron 18-270mm model B008.
Leather: Lucky you! I would recommend the 18-135mm, 70-300mm, and your favorite putter!
God bless all who served and all who continue to serve. Thank you for the posting.
Please don't say "professional courtesy"!
Sorry. I'll read the postings more carefully next time.
