I got some Deet on my Casio watch and it messed up the crystal surface!!! Don't know what is in that stuff, but I am starting to like it as much as bugs do!

Sorry, this is a false story. Check Snopes and any etymology page. I do agree that we are never to old to learn something new, but just like kids, we have to be critical thinkers and check real sources. Too much other 'fake news' and 'alternate facts' are already out there....

But it is a fun 'story'.

My wife and I were there a number of years ago. Very well worthwhile! We took a raft trip on the Subernacki River which was amazing and actually quite safe. They take high powered inflatables to the tidal bore at a shallow sandy area. The bore which was about 10 inches high moved the sand around to create 6 foot waves and the rafter circles through them for about 20 minutes or so. You do get sandy and there are showers and warm drinks when you get back.
The Flower Pot rocks are also a great photo opportunity.
Have a wonderful time and if you have a waterproof camera, share some images.

The picture taking was easy....the hard part was training your eyes to relax and see both at the same time without a stereopticon. Small images made that a bit easier. My other trick was to put a dot on each picture is the same location then look for the dot.

I have made 3D images by successive shots leaning more on each foot. Then viewing either on stereopticon or controlled staring at small prints. Very easy, and true colors.

I knew Les Brown back around 1960...not the musician, but a student at CCNY who drove a Morgan! I do recall, the musician too. Please share any successes with your Celestron.
Good luck!

If you got the message that the end has come and it is because the felt absorption blankets are full, there is hope. I have a rather old 2400 in which the previous owner installed a drainage system, so extra ink goes into a bottle outside the printer. The felt pads can't get 'full' and I have been using it with no problems at all. I do not know where he got the system, but I am sure you can Google it. I will be happy to take a photo of it if you think it could be helpful.

I agree on the Logan brand. I do however recommend the 'pull' cutter for the bevel knife. It is easier to control and has the added feature of a push pin to prevent creeping when you start the bevel cut. It come with the 450 model that I use, but not sure which other models include it. Change blades often...they are cheap and make for a neater cut.
Have fun!

My first camera too! Later used Kodak Tri Pack in the darkened bathroom and made contact prints. Thanks for the memories and the picture.

Mostly Pentax from old film to current K3. Also a variety from old half-frame Olympus Pen EE to a Zorki, to a 2 1/4in square twin lens, to a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 Speed Graphic. So much fun with all of them, but the go to camera has always been a Pentax. Box full of lens from a 12 mm to a 500mm of various brands. Love the Pentax 50 f1.7 from the old days and still use it when the light is low. Also with extension tubes for close-ups.

Dear Digit,
Yes, I would like the Pentax 55-300. I don't like to 'dicker' either, so I will go along with your price. I have never purchased anything like this online, so please explain how we go about concluding the transaction. I will be traveling for Thanksgiving and return home on December 2nd, so my computer access will be limited. You may try my email (woll@siena.edu) or call my cell phone (518-956-1254). We will be in Eastern time and Central time during this trip.
Have a nice Thanksgiving.
