A lovely picture Graham, and unusual processing for you! The warmth certainly tells me its a sunset shot, although the colour may be a little overdone? I haven't been to Romney Marsh since the early sixties, when it was a favourite area on my Velocette Venom (motorcycle). Don't recall this church though - probably whizzed-by too quickly and missed the opportunity, but I undoubtedly had my Edixa SLR with me. (Still ruminating about India if you have any thoughts).

Thanks Dave, your comments are valued and much appreciated. I have to agree with you on the smoke, which was a last minute bad decision and since been remove. This would be a good time to repost without smoke version. As you can see, I have chosen the monochromatic B&W version.
Dave

That’s better Dave but, like Keni below, I reckon a different form of smoke may bring something to the scene. I’m sure you could find something to suit if you want it. Either way, it’s a superb composit!

1 to 16 certainly apply in my house - I’ll see if the wife recognises them!

Your first shot has the most impact for me personally, by a mile Erich. As for whether to photograph, absolutely! Surely it is one of the best ways to bring the story home to people. We all need to understand what inhumanity was enacted there and elsewhere. Sadly, it won’t eridicate it but making people aware must help in the long run.

Tricky bit of focussing for sure, and your effort has paid-off very nicely. Not my favourite colours but they certainly work well here Frank.

Yep, that last shot is the winner RG. I would start with the dark version and, with some d&b (no RG, dodging and burning!), try for somewhere between the two.

Great shot Erich, which should sell well for a travel brochure! I love when things come together like this, and don’t give a toss as to whether everyone else has taken the same view. Result is what it’s all about, and you’ve nailed it.

Dave, I’ve flipped back and forth with these two and simply cannot choose one above the other. Either way it’s superb - apart from what others seem to be referring to a smoke (?) - I think, whatever it is (I thought it looked like three blank faces wearing baseball caps backwards), it needs to go. A masterpiece in compositing once that’s done.

Certainly stands-out, and you know there's something good to come. I think Dave's suggestion on composition would definitely suit it. Nice job Bob.

I'd say you've missed it. Yours bubbles are too few and all the greenery doesn't work. From your description, what she saw would start more like coloured soda water - that could be a starting point from which you would need to enlarge areas to meet the 'growing' requirement. Keep trying, everyone in FYC has loads of patience!

Befunky's "advanced" features can be a bit confounding (I haven't bothered to learn them), so I dug out my editing laptop.

Detail softening via Topaz Simplify and other filters, then added my own moon via a new layer, then used PS Elements' guided edits section to create the reflection effect.

Thanks, R.G.!

You’re getting good at this Linda - a very nice conversion.
