Thanks...we enjoy it. I live in Sturgis and enjoy it except for about a month in the summer...so it goes. I'm not a fan of the rally! Anyway, we do have a beautiful state. Thanks for the accolades.

Sounds like a lovely trip...except that you didn't hit South Dakota where I live! I'm glad your camera worked for you for that trip...I'll look at the 14 mm, as well. Once you start to love photography...so many decisions await you, but it is a wonderful hobby! Thanks for your input.

Thank you very much for all your perspectives. As always, a mix of pros and cons. I bought the Fuji XT-1 partly because of the capability of changing lenses. I only have the 18-55 and I'm happy with it, but thought I'd think about expanding my ability to do photos in lower light. I know a prime limits you to just that range though
...???what to do?

Hello friends. I own a Fuji XT-1 with the kit lens...18-55. I'm enjoying the camera and have started to prefer it to my larger DSLR for travel, specifically. I am starting to look at the 35mm f1.4XF R lens at b & h. The lens is priced at $599 so it is a purchase that I need to think about and be sure of. One of the b&h people said that sometimes Fuji offers a rebate, but he couldn't tell me if anything like that was coming up soon or not. Do any of you have this lens, and if you do...are you happy with it? I welcome any thoughts you might be able to share. Thank you.

You've all been so helpful...thank you so much. I must admit to being a little "apprehensive" about going to Morocco, but you have all put those worries to rest. I'm going to consider this a wonderful adventure and just enjoy the experience...and try to get some great photos, too.

Hi friends. My husband and I are taking a trip to Morocco in October. We will be seeing Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Chefchauen, Atlas Mountains, Essouaria. We will spend our final three days in Madrid where we'll fly out to come home. Have any of you gone to Morocco? Do you have suggestions for photography, etc. (general tourist suggestions) Ideas for photography in Madrid are also invited. Thanks so much.

I've made many photo books through Shutterfly. I find it a very user friendly site...lots of fun to do. I've also made 3 beautiful books through Blurb. The Blurb books are, in my opinion, higher quality, but require a bit more time and effort. There are many tutorials to help you with whichever book you choose to do. (Julianne Kost has several great tutorials to help with every phase of a Blurb book.) Good luck. Whichever book you choose, you'll have fun reliving your memories!

I purchased the XT-1 in April and I really am enjoying it. I bought it with the 18-55 and it really is a great lens. So far I only have that lens, but I may get a prime at some point. I'm going to take this camera to Morocco when my husband and I take that trip this fall. I have a Canon 6D that I love, too, and I'm not ready to give it up either. I have no qualms in recommending the kit lens. I'm still studying the Fuji and trying to use it to its full capacity. Good luck.

Thanks so much. I will purchase the recommended book for additional help. I think this camera has a lot of depth that I would like to tap into. Any additional comments will be appreciated.
