Can anyone ID these two birds for me? I'm even wondering if they could be the same bird! I appreciate all the help you can give to me! I've looked through my book and can't find them.

I've just up graded to a canon t3i from a point and shoot. Wow do I have a lot to learn. One of my fav things is to shoot the night sky. How do I set up a time exposure? BTW I have signed up for a night class in photography but can't wait to try stuff.

I was a Realtor for 27 years and retired from that business over a year ago. I started real estate photography before I quit real estate and that is what I do now. I really love it way more than real estate!

I agree, many real estate photos are hideous. Some Realtors still don't understand the importance of good photos. They bring more people to their listings if they are great photos.

I use a full frame camera with my 10-22mm and also use my 24-70mm. I use flash as well.

Here is a link to my site. http://www.WendyPickardPhotography.com

I don't post much on my site because I usually am too busy taking photos :)

Hi !
I'm wondering if anyone knows what bird this is? Last night I looked up and saw at least 50 of these birds.

Canon SX 50 so only jpeg
ISO 160 f6.5
Thanks for looking. Critiques welcome.

It looks like a starling but they normally have red/brown color tail feathers not yellow.
Great shots!!!

I am so far behind the learning curve w/ this camera! I don't even see a metering option on any menu. And as far as submitting images here "showing all Exif data and storing the original". Sorry, Greek to me. I have Adobe PS Elements and something else but haven't been able to figure out how to use them to Post Process. I just use some simple Canon stuff to adjust levels to my liking.
I'm feeling I should go back to using my old 8GB EOS Rebel XT rather than the "new, full frame sensored highly capable 6D. Sell the 6D and be happier???

I am having cataract surgery on the 29th and 13th. Left eye first and then dominant right eye second. I have been told that I will have to wear and eye patch for several weeks. I can't imagine not being able to make photographs for almost a month. What can any of you who have had this surgery share with me as to what I can expect?

David,
I had cataract surgery about 5 years ago, had double vision in both eyes- would see 4 birds for every 1 bird. surgery on right eye took 15 mins. Instant perfect vision and color, no eye patch and was out taking photographs next day. One week later had the left eye done, have 20/20 and single vision and see brighter color with both eyes. You will need to put drops in your eyes for 3 weeks or so.

Hello everyone. I'm considering the purchase of the Canon 70-200 F4 IS lens and I wonder if anyone on the Forum has the lens and if you like it. I would be using it on a full-frame 6D. I do mostly portraits, family groups, landscape, still life photography. I'm an enthusiastic hobbyist, but always working to improve my photography. The same lens in the 2.8 version is very expensive and heavy which are both factors in my thinking. Being retired has many benefits, but a limited budget for things such as lenses is also a consideration. I will thank you ahead of time for your expertise and thoughts.

Linda,
I purchased my lens in May 2009 and had taken 1,000's of pictures, it is a superb lens. I have posted 100's of shots on Flickr. Gooogle 33RW for pictures on Flickr.

Looking for suggestions on new camera strap. I would like to upgrade from the strap(s) that came with my Canon Camera to something more comfortable (and with less advertising). Prefer that it attaches in the same way as the current one does rather than screwing into the tripod mount. I would also prefer not to spend over $100.00 if possible.

Appreciate everyone's thoughts and suggestions!

I have a Canon 7D and a heavy white lens. I use a OP/TECH Camera harness(webbing) $12.50 try it, you will love it!

Alright, Raymond, I think I did what you suggested. I took something to +1 and it seems to have helped some. Maybe I should go to +1.5? See what you think.

I didn't see any adjustment in the properties.
I used Picassa to edit your shots but could not see where the focused point is in the picture.
Try this,
1. Change the metering to 'Spot' the center spot.
2.Down load Picassa "free" and edit your pics.

August the 10th was a great for shooting the Super Moon in a lot of places, but on the Texas gulf coast it was amazing. Not only was there a Super Moon but there was a super Sun Set. I was at my regular place for shooting birds and assorted wild life and I noticed the spectacular sun set. I took several shots and when the sun finely went down I turned in the opposite direction towards the Gulf and the super moon was just rising. What a super day for super photography. Hope some other people were as lucky as I was. What do you think.

here we go, I reset the iso to 200 and 100 then went to f-19 and 22 with the with the camera in AM and still not right so I am guessing that it may be the lens or it really needs a filter.

1. The lens is good, it's a keeper!
2. Is there a filter on the lens?-if so remove it!
3. Adjust Exposure bias to +1.
4. Edit pictures.

I have a new Canon T3 and I an using a like new Canon 35-80. These shots were in auto mode and they come out rather hazy to my eye. If I use the kit lens, the 8 -55, then I dont have this problem. Because of the lens type should I have a UV filter also?

This also happens when ever I use this lens out doors but indoors is a different story.

PP in Picassa.
