I like the specs on the 100s, however, I'm also looking at the 50r. I'm thinking to benefit off the 50r owners who 'must have the latest thing', and will trade in. I read it's due March 21, so I'll start seriously looking around April 10th, or so.

The thing is that most magazines have run out of content. Before folks were looking for how to... The net took that over, just look at the few 'youtubers' who offer real advice and information (We have a couple in this site). Then they were left with offering camera reviews. This was also taken over by review sites usually sponsored by online retailers (DPR=Amazon by example)

So what do they have left? Nothing, as they readership dropped so did advertisement... No $$$, no oxygen so... A slow death that may make folks nostalgic about holding paper but in reality we are profiting for the multiplication of information and resources, like UHH that can be full of crap also provides genuine solution to issues a magazine could not address and that almost instantaneously.

RIP, printed press, you served us well.

You mean it twists opposite the camera you usually use? Honestly, I have never thought about it because I usually use AF.

Yes. On a pentax body, pentax lenses focus one way, most non-pentax lenses focus the other (nikon compatible) way. When you're shooting a single person moving, auto-focus works fine. When you're shooting a running back (for instance) I prefer manual, rather than trying to keep the subject right under a specific focusing point.

Sometimes you don't really have a choice: years ago I bought a catadioptric (sp?) 600mm mirror lens to catch Nessie on a trip to Scotland (missed her) and it focuses the other way. Oh, well. It also focuses beyond infinity. I assume that's because it takes filters behind the lens. Tamron, I think. Crisp lens.

Have a 18- 200m tamron fits my pentax K10 any comments , good or bad ?

I've used some non-Pentax glass over the years (since 67 or so), but most of them focus backwards, which is seriously annoying when I'm trying to grab a moving subject.

Is the brown just below and left of center in #5 an insect? I really love the electric colors in #1, btw. Thanks for these.

$25 in 1920 was a fortune! I'd have prefered to process it myself. Three quarters of the fun was trying different developers and techniques -- making lith film give continuous tone images, making a pin hole camera from a coffee can, and printing the paper negative. IDK, maybe I should build a darkroom again. I was a founding member of Soho Photo Gallery in the '70s -- it was a delight to see what other people were doing, the different ways of seeing.

During film days, I decided film is cheap, compared to missing the best shot. I'd sort out the best ones in the darkroom. Digital is cheaper. As someone above said, I sort through them right after I download them. I either got what I wanted or I didn't. If I didn't (unless I had a lucky accident), why keep them?

This happened many years ago, now. The package was a few years old when I bought it, and the price on Ebay was about 20% of the retail price at the time. After Adobe responded they would no longer authorize that version, I took it as a reminder to Caveat Emptor: it was too cheap for a reason....

Don't subscribe.
Adobe refused to 'authorize' a never used, shrink wrapped version of PS I bought as they were going to the subscription model, so I'm not interested in supporting them.

Nice shot. And your background worked. When I shoot flowers, they're usually outside in a garden or on a bush. Generally I shoot fairly close 1.5 to 2 feet, and choose a wider f-stop (2 to 4), enough to allow some sharpness in the bloom but throw the background out of focus.

Just a personal point of view: I crop to suit the image, to exclude junk or distractions. Then I print it so it fits on the paper -- if it ends up a 9.5 x 6, so be it. If I love it enough, I'll get a mat cut so the white border is even (or just barely gone) and then frame it as 8.5 x 11.
