Perfect timing for me since I just gave iTunes $38 for another year of digital "Practical Photography." They have sent emails to subscribers saying that the current issue, July 2020, will be the last. No details about any refunds, etc. That means I'm down to the sad excuse for what was once pretty, i.e. "Outdoor Photography." Wait, there's still hope, I still get UK's "EOS Magazine" digitally every quarter. When I first subscribed, it was bi-monthly. Hopefully, that's not a sign.

You should get an email/letter saying that by about July 16 any refund you are due will be provided. The last issue is the August issue, out in July. I can't say how using iTunes to subscribe might impact the how and went you will get a refund on the unissued magazines.

The thing is that most magazines have run out of content. Before folks were looking for how to... The net took that over, just look at the few 'youtubers' who offer real advice and information (We have a couple in this site). Then they were left with offering camera reviews. This was also taken over by review sites usually sponsored by online retailers (DPR=Amazon by example)

So what do they have left? Nothing, as they readership dropped so did advertisement... No $$$, no oxygen so... A slow death that may make folks nostalgic about holding paper but in reality we are profiting for the multiplication of information and resources, like UHH that can be full of crap also provides genuine solution to issues a magazine could not address and that almost instantaneously.

RIP, printed press, you served us well.
Behold globally shared information.

I requested an iTunes refund, but am not holding out much hope.

Right! Aside from reviewing new equipment, there isn't much new in photography. Look at the articles in a mag form the 60s and look and what they printing today. You will see a huge amount of overlap.

AT least one older magazine is still around - digitally ... Petersens Photographic. This magazine (print) used to be one of the best "How To" photo magazines around.

Can you provide info/links to the "youtubers" on the UHH site? Thank you.

Agree. With the advent of the Internet, the sources of knowledge and understanding have multiplied, despite the loss of printed material.

I subscribed a while back to Outdoor Photography. They must have been desperate for subscribers, because after my one year subscription ran out I continued to receive it for 2 more years free. I never liked it, because I found the images to be overly Photoshopped. In particular, the chroma was so pumped up, the colors were not found in Nature. I suppose that could have been blamed on the photographer or the magazine or both.

If you are a paper subscriber, have you gotten any recent issues. My last was from April. I think I am now three issues backordered. They say they are not able to get them to the U.S. but my wife has been getting her UK cross stitch magazines regularly. I can't understand what the problem could be with PhotoPlus.
