The Chateau of Chantilly would be a slightly-off-the-beaten-track possibility. I enjoyed a picnic in the nearby woods years ago. Note, if you're going this October, the world rugby championships are taking place in the area all that month. St. Denis, especially, will be teeming with rugby fans. I'm hoping to do some of my photography this fall on the grounds of the Rodin Museum.

Here are a couple photos of park paths half a world and years apart. The Alaska photo was taken years ago. The mountain in the far distance is Sleeping Lady. The Turkey photo was taken last year.

These are not tiny but they are the sort of things that are easily overlooked. They're tools that were used to create snow sculptures at the winter carnival in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1997.

Here's one from a week ago at f1.5, 1/49th second, ISO 500 on my iPhone 13 proMax.

Inspired by lhammer's aviation offerings, here are a couple more airplane photos. The Ercoupe photo was taken at the Oshkosh air show a few years ago, the Cubs at a local air show.

I took the fireworks photo last week.

"I have five images I have taken recently that I like. Very much open to critique. Thank you"

One and five are tied for first place for me, with four a close second.

Since it's travel season, here's one I like because I think it tells a story. Passengers are waiting to board a 747 at Chicago O'Hara airport.

I've had my hybrid Camry nearly three years. It's peppier that the conventional Camry I had for eleven years before that, gets just over 48 miles to a gallon of gas and has a range of more than 540 miles. I do some highway driving but that's from mostly driving in town. The only issue I've had with it was a firmware problem shortly after purchase that was quickly resolved. I'm happy with this car.

I found a couple from a trip to the D.C. area a few years ago.

The first flag is from Alexandria, Virginia. The city hall? I'm not sure.

The second flag is at the Air and Space Museum at Dulles International Airport.

You will need both wide angle, AND all the zoom you can bring!

Yes. You'll see wildlife from a distance and sweeping landscapes. Your Lumix with the zoom lens will probably serve you best.

Looks like quartz to me. Like jrvinson45's guess at its history.

Here's one that's vintage in a couple of ways. I photographed and edited it in June 1999 for a Web site containing family Civil War letters and diary entries. The photo is of the monument at the foot of the Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. It's small and low-resolution (72 dpi) because that was what was recommended at the time for Web sites. (Remember when 100K files took forever to upload?)

I like all three. However, I think there's more of a story in two and three. One is as much about the setting as the people.

So many machines. Irv's offering (above) reminded me of these. Here's a lunar rover prototype and space capsule photographed on a 2007 visit to the museum at the Cape Kennedy NASA launch facilities.
