Our Daughter is a third year medical student at the University of Virginia and does research in their labs. They are around Covid cases everyday just as much as the University hospital staff. So today they were all given their first vaccine shot and she posted this picture.

Now this is the same person who as a little child entering Pre-School it took all my strength to hold and carry her to get her shots - she did not react well to words like Doctor, Shot, Vaccine etc. I had a hard time believing a tiny little girl could be that strong. It was to the point I thought she might hurt herself trying to get away. Mom got to do the talking, distracting, petting etc. trying to calm her down while I got to be the one holding her. After each shot session I often had bruises. She really, really, really, really didn't like shots.
And now she is aiming at being a surgeon?????

To quote John Candy (from Splash), “When something works for, me I stick with it!” Collecting antiques is even better when they are functioning and usable. Of course, at rest it looks great.
Merry Christmas

That's a nice one. My favorite is the kneeling Archer found on Pierce Arrows.

Love that one also. When I finally got a better camera (beyond point and shoot) and a good shot of that ornament, I realized he was naked.

It's from a 1937 Railton, a British car.

Built on a Hudson chassis and drive train. Discovered these beautiful cars a few years ago through literature I had. Nice shot.

I hope all you hedgehogs have a wonderful day. Please stay safe and enjoy time with family and friends. I volunteer to work so one of my fellow nurses can have the day off with her family. My family is supportive we have ours Friday.

A very nice place to visit.

We were there years ago (film era) and it’s beautiful. Great colors and setting for photography (now that I appreciate it more).

This is a focus stacked image of my preserved Cicada. The front on view was staged with a 50mm reversed lens on a bellows and the closeup of the eye was staged with a 5X microscope objective on a bellows.

You always do a great job and a lot of work involved for us to appreciate the end result. But this did nothing to improve the Cicada’s looks. LOL

I've not been to the UP in the fall, I was amazed at how vibrant the colors were compared to what I am used to here in central Illinois.

The first 4 pictures were with my DSLR, the last 4 pictures were with my drone.

Two images from the beach the past 2 days. The sunrise was ok, not great at my location and the other was taken late in the afternoon right after a storm. The sunrise image has more color than what's showing online but you get the idea.

About 10 days ago I posted in this forum images in color of The Miami River along with details about its history. I selected some of the images made then and now I present them here converted to b&w.
As the original, these images were made with an Olympus camera and two of their lenses. Some of them were made with a Tiffen polarizer filter to put more drama in the sky.
The images were converted using Topaz B&W Effects 2 with some final touches using Photoshop.

As it is customary with me I added warmth to the images simulating my favorite printing paper, Agfa fiber base.
The second image is part of the administrative building at Jose Marti Park, not far from Little Havana.
