He tried everything and couldn't bring the Japanese to their knees. He coulda stopped the war, but he didn't. He actually k**led more Japanese civilians than either of the A bombs did. What's worse than an A bomb? Perhaps incindiary bombing of a city made of matchsticks.

Since the bombing of Tokyo didn't bring about surrender, the A bombs were used to prevent a full scale invasion. Nitmitz was known for popping off, too.

Bottom line, all Japan had to do was surrender. All Hamas NEEDS to do is surrender. And don't tell me they're all but beaten.

I agree. The decision to use the bomb was to save US lives, not lessen the total human cost of war. Imperial Japan made their bed and their citizenry paid the price. My family lost one uncle on Iwo Jima (my Mother's brother) and had one uncle imprisoned by the Japanese in the Philippines (my Father's brother). They were ruthless in his treatment.

Japan would probably not be the peaceful nation they are today without the total humiliation and destruction brought down upon them by the US at the end of WWII.

Has he gone to s**te or is the media looking at him through s**te covered glasses? You have to admit, since he beat the Hillary, good press has been hard for Trump to get.

In 2023, the U.S. trade deficit with China declined by more than $100 billion to $279.4 billion, the smallest total since 2010, Bloomberg reported. A trade deficit occurs when the value of a country's imports exceeds the value of its exports.

Love this part about China!

Quote from the article:

"But Biden is taking credit for a trend that also has ties to his predecessor and 2024 opponent, Trump. Chinese imports have faced higher tariffs since Trump imposed them in 2018.

The Biden administration has kept most of the Trump administration tariffs in place, according to the Tax Foundation."

Many of the black democrats in NC who could not v**e for Mark Robinson in the primary will support him in the general. He will also get all the republicans who chose one of the other republican candidates yesterday because NC residents are pragmatists, not idealists.

Stein's support is only strong right around the research triangle and Charlotte. Mark will ride the coattails of Trump who will easily win NC. 13 percent of NC Democrat primary v**ers chose "no preference" over coloring in the box for Joe Biden yesterday. That's how much they love him.

Links? Mark is outspoken and he says a lot of interesting things, but if these "quotes" are real they're out of context. He has railed against the alphabet community forcing their agenda down the throats of elementary school kids and he gets a lot of support from everyday folks. His victory will be a landslide

What part of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment states that a conviction is required to keep an i**********nist from holding an office?

You've been listening to trump's lawyer's propaganda for way too long.

Think this through. If you were stupid enough to attempt to use an amendment penned to keep confederate officers from running for federal office, you would have to have some type of federal trial to determine guilt (Kind of like Trump's 2nd impeachment and acquittal). The guilt of the confederate officers was determined by the terms of the surrender.

If there's not a trial to determine i**********n, what's to keep ANY state from declaring ANY candidate guilty of "i**********n" and removing them from their b****t. Florida could keep Biden off the b****t at a whim, denying him a sizable chunk of the popular v**e. You can't have state AGs arbitrarily playing with the b****ts for federal offices.

For the past three years, Trump’s been displaying gradually worsening dementia symptoms, and very few are willing to talk about it. Now that his senility is so severe, he seems to have forgotten his own family members. While making a thank-you speech to all who helped in his campaign after winning the North Carolina primary, he needed a note card that listed his children’s names and he still forgot to thank his son Eric. He also confused his wife with Mercedes Schlapp. These are classic signs of severe dementia. Don’t forget that he also thought he was running against Barack Obama and confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi.

??? Last time I checked, and I'm sitting in the state, the NC primary is today.

Are you being silly or do you really not know how to make a Moscow Mule? It takes Vodka.

BTW, "Jack Daniels" is a Tennessee product and they consider it Whiskey. Bourbon is from Kentucky and has to be predominantly a corn distillation. After the 10th shot, they are impossible to tell apart.

Maybe an i**********n where our supporters attack the capital, injure 100 police officers and the mob then tries to hang the Vice President while we tell them that we love them.
Oh wait. Trump already did that.

Just a friendly reminder, spouting off this old canard in every attic thread isn't going to comfort you when Trump beats Biden in November.

If you dig into that article, you'll find that most current cars can not support the charging speed. Knowing a thing or two about electricity, I can tell you that a ton of heat would be generated in charging a battery at 500KW and a lot of things can go wrong with damaged equipment. Like most things, making a battery that can charge twice as fast makes it more than twice as expensive.

Pure electric vehicles are getting better, but unless you're charging the cars with solar or wind, you're spinning your wheels from a net energy efficiency standpoint. In 5 minutes, I can put enough gasoline in my Prius to drive over 400 miles and have unlimited heating and air conditioning.

Just look at all of the charges against him. They cannot all be fabrications.

Why not. It's a democratic strategy to tie him up. If he was guilty of these charges, they all could have been brought in 2020 and been resolved by now. If they thought they could put him behind bars, he could be there now. Every prosecution venue has been chose because the likely juries will h**e Trump. Grow up and start paying attention.

You're missing the point. The prosecution of THIS statute in the history of New York has only been applied where businesses left people in the lurch and they lost money. So for THIS statute, Trumps prosecution is UNIQUE.

Quit being so freaking persnickety in defending your ignorance.

That’s not the fraud - the fact that the loans performed (mostly) is not the issue. It’s simply that they were acquired with fraudulent information in a system that is essentially built on trust. He defrauded the banks as to the amount of risk the loans had and that affects their ability to do banking significantly. That’s what the indictment was about, not about anything else.

"Affects their ability to do banking significantly?" You must have just made that phrase up to try and sound intelligent. The bank knew what they were getting into when they entered into the loan agreement. They knew the schedule of repayment and the money came back when expected and the loans were paid in full. They made the amount of money they expected and were happy and testified on behalf of Trump. And most importantly, they assessed the risk and collateral with their own staff. It wasn't like Trump was borrowing money from you or me and we didn't realize the valuation of the securities. Banks don't make huge loans without doing their homework and if they do, shame on them.

Latisha James got her people to value Mar-a-Lago at 75 million dollars. Forbes said the property is well in excess of 350 million. Many people feel that the property is really worth close to the value Trump placed on it.

The bottom line: this in the only victimless crime prosecuted under this statute in its entire 75 year existence.

ISO (correct me if I misinterpreted) wasn’t referring to the litigated e******n i**********e cases but the margins of victory in the all-important swing states was so slim that it is not a stretch to believe that social medias (help me out here Kraken) bias in quashing stories and labeling some conservative PACS as purveyors of h**e speech and stifling their ability to raise money could have definitely tipped the scales.

Right Effate, most people get their news on the run and most of the media venues that supplied that news in the lead-up to the 2020 e******n were biased toward Biden. The article linked below relates some of that bias and its impact. We now know that Russian collusion was a democratic fabrication. The information to debunk that story was available well before the 2020 e******n, but most media outlets did not admit the story was fabricated until after the e******n and even then, it was in fine print on page 20.
