This case if it goes before SCOTUS is more about Trump VS DeSantis and Haley than Biden. Most people thought the case would come down more toward the summer, but as it turn out it will effect the primaries more, It will be interesting to hear the arguments and Trumps involvements in the i**********n.

While I intensely think trump is a terrible choice for America I hope the court overturns the decision and leaves the choice to the America people.
That said I have more faith in the court to rule based in law and not politics. So it could be even more to overturn the lower court decision.
Ana otter said this is now a primary issue. Will the court rule quickly enough to make a difference in. Colorado primary which is scheduled for March 5.

I doubt that SCOTUS will take up the question of i**********n or applicability of the 14th Amendment. Just read the dissenting opinions, and the question can be tossed on procedural grounds; the timeline for the original decision did not satisfy the requirements of the Colorado e******n law and thus the original decision is not valid.

This approach lets SCOTUS off the hook of making any broad interpretation or actually defining the procedure for enforcing the 14th Amendment, which is a completely open question at this time.

Only if SCOTUS wants to firm up the application of the 14th Amendment, and I see no reason for them to want to do that. Only if Trump was convicted of a federal law related to i**********n would they have reason to consider this, as that would clearly force their hand.

The SCOTUS has a lot on its plate so maybe it won't take it up, on the other hand this J** 6th dilemma has been festering way to long and people are in jail.

The Colorado Supreme Court decision finding that Trump is an i**********nist who is therefore not qualified to be on the b****t, merely shows that neither you, I, nor a former President is above the law. It has nothing to do with anyone be scared of Trump in the upcoming e******n. Polls are meaningless this far in advance of the e******n; Biden is going to win by more than he did last time.

That said, of course SCOTUS is going to reverse the Colorado decision, since this is the most partisan, extreme right wing SCOTUS in our lifetime (e.g., the spouse of one of the SCOTUS justices is a die hard e******n denier).

But, for the purpose of discussion, suppose SCOTUS upholds the decision. Two questions would arise:

1. Would a SCOTUS decision disqualify Trump from being on the b****t in every state in the nation?

2. How long do you think it would it take for Trump to unleash his i**********n goons and thugs on SCOTUS?

It's not only the 2nd amendment that counts. But, I too have no doubt that the Supreme Court, having been bought like so many other corrupt members of the gop will change our destiny to f*****m and overturn the Colorado court. This isn't about the democrats not liking Trump, no matter how many times people will try and say it to convince you. This is about Trump not being held to the rule of law in this country.
