There is a proper way to mount the glass. Hold it up to a LCD TV or computer screen and rotate it; the screen will go dark or black if the glass is oriented properly. That is the direction the camera should look through the filter.

My B+W filters are held in place with a retaining ring; not sure how it is attached because on some filters I have it screws in but I'm not sure how that ring is locked in on the B+W filter. But you can probably glue/expoxy the glass back in. Just be sure it is oriented properly as determined above.

I don't think it is a good idea for you to give out advice - you clearly have limited knowledge about the subject at hand

All of a sudden the glass came of the rings! It is a B+W CPL.
My question is: can the glass be mounted either way or is there a front and back? And if there is how to know?

I have had a B+W filter do the same - sent it back and they fixed it for free

That would be the worlds most expensive storage solution, bar none. Just get a 1Tb SSD like the SanDisk. They are $80 at Costco

The letter I received, states the following:
"Based on information provided during our recent communication, we are unable to approve your application for a B&H Payboo Credit Card for the following reason(s):"

"We were unable to verify your identity" This is totally absurd! The first sentence of the following paragraph states, "Our credit decision was based in whole or in part on information obtained in a report from the consumer reporting agency (EQUIFAX) listed below". The rest of the paragraph goes on to state, "under the Fair Credit Reporting Act", I have the right to know the information contained in my Equifax credit file. It further goes on to state, "that the reporting agency, (EQUIFAX) played NO part in our decision and is unable to supply specific reasons why we have denied credit to you". WHAT???? If the credit agency played no part in your decision, WHAT DID YOU BASE YOUR DECISION ON?? I find this reason contradictory and totally ABSURD!!

It further states, I have a right to a free copy of my (EQUIFAX) credit report if I request it no later than 60 days after this notice and if I find any information in the report to be inaccurate or incomplete I have the right to dispute the matter with (EQUIFAX) the reporting agency. Again, If the credit agency played no part in your decision, WHAT DID YOU BASE YOUR DECISION ON?? They, Comenity Bank fails to ever state a (specific) reason for the rejection. I find both (1) that no reason is offered for this decision and (2) that they were unable to verify my identity, simply OUTRAGEOUS! This clearly doesn't bode well for B&H and their partnership with this very questionable bank.

Our cameras use 1/4 inch diameter with twenty threads per inch. (1/4-20). You may be able to ---> carefully <---- clean the threads with a "tap" from any hardware store.

If the threads are stripped - they cannot be repaired with a tap. If there is enough material, it may be possible to cut a bigger thread and insert a heli-coil - it is an unlikely scenario.

Buy an ARCA L-bracket and use some thickened epoxy in the screw-hole and mount the l bracket. It is a one shot deal - if it fails you are f.....

Or have the camera repaired by the mfg or a competent repair shop - probably your best bet

Thanks Sippy. Your information is very useful. Basically, if a person claims a copyright image but hasn't jumped through the hoops to get said copyright, they are S.O.L. A friend of mine found out the hard way. Cost her big time.

Someone told me in 1960's that if you came up with a new idea to sketch it out, print it out and mail it to yourself so that it has a US Postal Service date stamp on it. When you receive it, do not open it up. Put it in a safe place until you can get a proper copyright completed on the document, project etc.

Don't know how well that would hold up in court but it beats not having any documentation.

Well sort of but not quite. What you will have is "prior art" which you can use to have the USPTO invalidate a patent or trademark filed by someone else - IF - your art (description/sketch of an invention or garphic art (e.g. a photo)) precedes the claimed unique art being patented or trademarked. Basically in everyday speak proving that "I did it first"

Given your exposition of your "legal expertise" I should assume that you remember the "Monkey Selfie" fiasco ?
