Cats must be the center of attraction, it is one of their goals in life; they are highly competitive. Cropping this photo with my hands limiting my view, topping at Vada's knees, and bringing in the left close to her knees, the cat is the center of our focus showing it's light-colored triangle and vertical tail. The interesting shoes lose to the cat.

I have been working on the studio space as a means to my recovery for my stay in the hospital, at least that is my 'excuse' of sorts. From this image primarily using the Hensel Mono Lights, one can see the overhead LED bulbs that may provide overhead lighting (some 35 bulbs) seen as reflections and just plain visually in the image. My love of mirrors in images has not diminished, just to readjust positions on the wall (the futon toped sofa went through some adjustments, including heavy castors to be able to move it as needed). The sofa needs some paint to the wood supports (when your 7 foot tall and old, getting up requires adjustments to the elevation for furniture!). This is a work in progress, it all takes time. (I've gotten PMs about what I'm doing now that I'm recovering from the hospital, quoting Bob Dylan "Those not busy being born, are busy dying").

The big ticket item is the storage shelves against the wall. As many have had their focus, 'all that clutter' that I consider as accessories, it needs storage. The second image shows a few of the banker boxes and Xerox boxes that I label and fill with many items. Boxes to hold tape, pony clamps, rope and of course the many model related items (stockings, gloves all things girly!) needed to make what I consider great shoots. But this can be ugly to distracting.

The solution I learned was to have an odd policy enshrined in a slogan, "I can send things to the land fill just as easily as anyone else", but first I as friends and other to drop it off at the studio so I can evaluate that 'gift' before the items departure. Recently a fellow photographer was shutting down his studio and he had a rather brilliant idea, hang his backdrops from above on the roller and tracks one finds in a hospital. Great idea, all I needed to do was come take down the aluminum tracks and all the clips and rollers from the ceiling (he did not want to bother with all that). So, there I was with all this channel and rollers, so I built in the storage wall racks and am now installing the channels, but using his idea there are two channels, one in front of the other. The ack channels hold curtains and the front channels will allow the placement of backdrops to be fitted for shoots. Yes, loads of channels and I plane to begin installing the channels in other locations as well. That will cover all the ugly storage boxes and items.

Thanks, I really enjoyed building the shelves and especially how it has changed the studio. Instead of just another view of the new studio adjustments I asked my friend VADA to do her thing and pose for some images as I evolved the space. You could say that it gives a sense of scale to the new renovated space, but that is just silly.

Tell you what, I will do some nice girly images soon of her 'dusting' the space and 'inventorying' all the boxes of fun items that go into the storage. I am fully aware that many on here do not hold with the idea that the accessories I in ploy while making images are important to making the style of images that I do, but then I do believe there is room on the Hog for alternatives to just another naked (or clothed) girl on a cloth backdrop. The cloth backdrops need a place to store you see and Mission Road Studio has dozens of cloth backdrops and storing these takes some doing.

I will say, I loan out my studio and its materials and equipment to both photographers and models as a way to help others to advance their vision and experiences. I even hear in person from both groups about my posts here to the Hog. Yes, some even outside of even Texas. O even have a reservation for next Thanksgiving from a woman in England!

Women love getting into all the things here that are at their disposal.
