Thank you for sharing your hard work and trail
cam photos.

You also exposed yourself as a thoughtful, caring
and imaginative person.

Thank you again.

I also love banjo music.

I have a five string banjo that a friend of the
family owned during WW1. After he passed
away, his wife gave it to me, knowing my
love for banjo music.

One of my favorite banjo pieces is "Cripple Creek".

I love bagpipe music.

How do we hear you play?
YouTube perhaps?

It was indeed "a very fine day" as your
photos are a pleasure to see.

Your writing is also a pleasure to read.
I was in suspense as to where your
words would lead.

WOW.

Great pearls of wisdom.

Thanks for sharing. I am at an age
where most of the "pearls" really resonate
with me.

After I've been on the computer a couple of hours my eyes get sore and water like crazy. They get so sore that I don't like to have them open. So I lay down for a an hour or so and then they are a little better. I bought a pair of blue ray computer glasses that are suppose to cut the blue rays from the computer. But they didn't help at all. I tried prescription eye drops and no help. I'm thinking of buying a screen that fits over the monitor.

I'm wondering if anyone else has this had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

My son uses Gunnar Computer Eyewear and really likes them. He is on
his computer a lot as he has a business he runs from home.

A bit pricey. Not sure what their return policy is.

An English muffin is a small, round, flat yeast-leavened bread which is commonly sliced horizontally, toasted, and buttered.

In North America and North American-influenced territories, they are called "English muffins" to distinguish them from plain muffins, which are larger and sweeter miniature quick breads. English muffins are very similar to bolo do caco in Portuguese cuisine.

The word muffin is thought to come from the Low German muffen, meaning "little cakes". Recipes for muffins appear in British cookbooks as early as 1758. Into the early nineteenth century, muffins were sold door to door in England by hawkers as a snack bread before most homes had their own ovens. The traditional English nursery rhyme "The Muffin Man", which dates from 1820 traces to that custom.

Samuel Bath Thomas emigrated from Plymouth, England, to New York City in 1875. He began making 'English' muffins there in 1880, using his mother's recipe. The Merriam-Webster dictionary dates the origin of the term English Muffin to 1902. In a 1926 trademark filing for a bakery brand by Thomas', it was claimed the term was first used in 1894.

The English muffin is often part of breakfast in North America and Australia, frequently eaten with sweet or savory toppings such as fruit jam or honey, or eggs, sausage, bacon, or cheese. English muffins are an essential ingredient in Eggs Benedict and a variety of breakfast sandwiches derived from it, such as the McMuffin.

The muffins above are an offshoot of sour dough baking. Reading about the cast-off process of making a sour dough starter was concerning. I found I was not alone and there are lots of recipes that call for using the cast-off. The muffins were made on the stove top while another two loaves of sour dough bread were baking in the oven.

Today's images feature two of the 1980s Canon FD manual focus lenses, the FD 85mm f/1.2L and FD 24mm f/1.4L. The lenses were adapted to a Sony mirrorless a7II via a Metabones adapter. Images were captured in RAW and processed in Adobe Lightroom v6.

The phots are great and the muffins and bread scrumptious looking.

Please share the recipe unless it is an "unshareable" family secret.

Every year during Derby week they make the announcement of the new honorees for the Thoroughbred Hall of Fame. This year's inductee is....drum roll please... American Pharaoh!

I traveled to Louisville in 2015 for Pharaoh's homecoming after he became the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years and I was fortunate to get this shot of him in the paddock. A beautiful and powerful animal with personality who loved the attention of the crowd that day.

WOW! What a shot. Great composition, tack sharp.

I am not a horse racing fan as such but we always tune-in
to watch the Kentucky Derby. The pageantry and wealth on
display are worth the price of admission.

I am a huge fan of Bob Baffert....that head of white hair
enables one to spot him instantly. I admire talent and
hard work in any endeavor.

Its hard to find them sitting still unless its on a feeder. A bundle of energy.

Really neat shots. They dart around so much, one has to be really quick to click.

They come around every season but don't stay long...must be migrating through.

They are constant visitors to our peanut feeders in SE Michigan.
The Pigmy Nuthatch also visits.

I decided I needed a ham license so I started studying code. Got up to around 5 wpm so went for the test. The first test was 13 wpm. About 2 minutes of code. When the code was finished I had correctly(?) copied 8 letters. The test was multiple guess so somehow I managed to pass it accidentally.

Thanks for your reply.

I am trying to find the original post by the UHH member
that painted very small figures. Not sure if he or she
carved the figures or purchase them.

I have tried the UHH search feature but turned up so
many references that I would never get through all of
them.

Thanks for any help.
