Thanks for taking the time to reply; however my question was explicitly about the color rendition of Claria standard vs hd inks.

UPDATE: I just saw that the Claria Standard & HD are the same inks, just diff sizes!

I am getting up to speed thanks to comments here.

Thanks so much Frederick! I may wait, as I have the B&H 'save the tax' card… it adds up! Have a good one!

Thanks for all
the replies.

Follow up question: how many prints &/or how often have you found you need to print to keep the nozzles from clogging - which I understand leads to costly cleaning vis-a-vis the inks…

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, tramsey, but I knew prices, & I explicitly asked for input on standard (312) vs HD inks in the last line...

burkphoto,

Thanks! It doesn't seem to be in stock at Adorama, & only on pre-order from B&H.

Of course, I will call Epson to get the details…

I saw a glowing review of this printer in PC Magazine Reviews & would like to know if anyone can commentabt cost & rendition quality of Epson's Standard Claria 312 & their HD inks.

The color accuracy & dependability of the PRN seem to be top, & I want to have better control than drugstore photo machines offer & to be able to print fm home - samples 4x6" & frameable 8x10"s & larger as needed.

I would like to know what to expect vis-a-vis the Epson Claria inks that are supposed to work so well w/this PRN regarding long term cost & quality of prints using the Standard Claria 312 ink & the HD…

Thanks in advance!

Walking up my blook in Brooklyn, the reddish leaves poking out of the green fence caught my eye.

Then I noticed the leaves had a similar shape to the trianglular tops of the houses in the background. The leading line of the fences & houses - plus the silhouetted tree counter-balancing the scene w/a nice blue sky made the shot.

This storefront 'draw' was for the Baloon Saloon, tvoted the most fun store. It is located in Tribeca, NYC, & I love th bright colors, B&W chalkboard, & th light & dark playing on the life-like figure of the cowboy. The shapes, colors, & textures & character lines in the cowboy's face made this a "must make image".

Enjoy!

E.L. Your regards sent to BK! Thanks for the detailed answer. I was looking for recommendations of books & tutorials on metering that would take me beyond the "what" of the manual, to get into the working principles on averaging flashes, using ratios, flash compensation, & how to best incorporate the meter's flash duration feature.

Yes, I'm looking to master metering for portraits, on issues relating to averaging multi flashes (Godox V1 & a couple of V860ii's) & I understand ea. light should be separately metered on a diff channel, to isolate what ea. flash is contributing & w/the meter triggering the flash, pointing it fm subject to flash; but unsure of how to best average 2 or 3 sets of ƒ-stops & shutter speeds in memory once I've separately metered ea. light. - or is it better to meter w/main, then w/fill & then other lights?

Also, pls explain why the lumosphere should be retracted if the subject is 3D.

I've 'read up' on lighting; & gone to some seminars at Adorama & B&H to get basics (pre-Covid). Now I'm mainly doing Street photography, & wanted to get into portraits b4 the Covid shutdown… so I'm using the time to build up the technical side of portrait lighting so I can use it w/good understanding when I move onto portraits. Like how I got David Busch's book: "Guide to Nikon D500 Digital Photography" while still saving up to upgrade my old camera, so I could be technically proficient once I got it.

I like to be technically aware so I can concentrate on the creative side…

Thanks again, seeker613

Seeking recommendations for books/tutorials that expand on the "what" of the manual, for the why/how/when & best practices - uses on topics of averaging sep. flash readings for main/key 2dary/fill & how/why I'd use flash's light ratios, & flash ev compensation. Also the why/when on how to get the most out of the flash duration feature.

Thanks in advance, seeker613

Bebu, thanks for your input. It seems either in my excitement I misplaced the Quick Start Guide, or I didn't get one.

I .did. get a Speedmaster L-858D L-858D-U _Startup Guide_ & on page 1 it lists in the 3d bullet point: "Batteries are not included in the package. Please obtain these separately".

Maybe the kit bundle w/the newly added Godox Transmitter has a diff docs package… I sny this bc I used to teach computer networking & a bit of a geek, I would never throw out or carelessly lose included instructions… but I am human…

I appreciate the help of people replying on this forum.

Get the paramedics! I can't seem to gettmy foot out of my mouth!

Only defense, I was so excited to finally have a Godox X-mitter for this Sekonic… I held off on buying one & having a stimulus check in the picture made it easier to spend, so good timing Sekonic!
