For some individuals Age actually has a lot to do with it. If one is fortunate enough to live past the average age before dying, they may have to deal with mental issues such as memory, recall and cognition. Without these it is nearly possible to learn new complicated ideas then recall them to put to use

Age has nothing to do with it. It all about personal interest and the willingness to spend the time needed to master the software of choice. Plenty of people half you age and younger have no more desire to invest their time learning new software then you do.

Reinstall it or find something new that you like. There are many low cost or free options if that’s what you prefer. The problem is some may be harder to learn than others especially if you want to use their advanced features other than a basic workflow. This would all be based on your needs. I use photoshop and Lightroom and i find Lightroom easier. I also use NIK and faststone. Fastone is a free basic editor that is blazing fast compared to most bloated software. It is easy to use. I use it quite a bit just to cull photos that will not be making it to Lightroom. Unfortunately for some, It will only work on a windows machine.

Here’s what I do
Take photographs
Get home and remove card from camera
Insert card in external card reader or in card reader on laptop
Transfer files verify transfer
Remove card
Insert card in camera
Reformat card.
Repeat for next day of shooting.

This has worked for me since I switched to digital about 18 years ago. I try to cycle out old cards with slow read/write times and throw them away. Old slow cards restrict how many photos you can take in continuous mode since the buffer will fill up very fast waiting

The lens I have used most is a Tokina 16-28 f2.8 on canon 5D2 and 5D4. Any quality lens in this focal length range at f2.8 works great. Most of mine were shot in Mexico and also Israel. Most quality software has compensation adjustment for lenses with regards to any distortion concerns you may have

I have owned the M5, 7D2, 5D2, 6D2 and 5D4. I still have the M5 and 5D4. I really like my 5D4 a lot and will keep it indefinitely. The M5 will be sold. I have an R7 on the way. Personally I thought my 6D2 was a great camera for my needs at the time. Canon has a huge refurbished camera and lens sale going on right now. I purchased an R7 this morning at a smoking deal. Some examples are
6D2 $699
5D4 $1299
R6 mirrorless $1099 on back order
R8 mirrorless $999 back order. Here’s a link.

Take a photograph. Upload it to your computer. Find the photo where you uploaded it select file and On a Mac: Under "Tools", select "Show Inspector"; On a PC, right-click the file, select "Properties" > "Details"
Scroll down the exif data until you find the shutter count. This is only for Nikon cameras

EXIF stands for Exchangeable Image File Format.

On those models the total shutter count should be in your exif data. Nikon includes it. On the other hand Canon does not. I own both brands.
