Thanks bsprague, are you currently using Picasa? If not, could you recommend an easy to learn photo download similar to Picasa that an 85 year old could do. JD

Age has nothing to do with it. It all about personal interest and the willingness to spend the time needed to master the software of choice. Plenty of people half you age and younger have no more desire to invest their time learning new software then you do.

Lighthouse Lover,

I am not and never have used Picasa. I've heard that it was a "non-destructive" system.

I'm bumping into 78. I have enormous fun with the Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop system. That there can be a lot to learn is part of it. There can be a very simple workflow to start with.

I'd suggest finding something new to use. Eventually there won't be any functioning links where you will be able to download it any longer.

Apparent you failed to follow instructions? What did you do, and why did it fail? Before you can ask for help we need to know why you were unsuccessful. What was needed, and what did not work for you?

Reinstall it or find something new that you like. There are many low cost or free options if that’s what you prefer. The problem is some may be harder to learn than others especially if you want to use their advanced features other than a basic workflow. This would all be based on your needs. I use photoshop and Lightroom and i find Lightroom easier. I also use NIK and faststone. Fastone is a free basic editor that is blazing fast compared to most bloated software. It is easy to use. I use it quite a bit just to cull photos that will not be making it to Lightroom. Unfortunately for some, It will only work on a windows machine.

For some individuals Age actually has a lot to do with it. If one is fortunate enough to live past the average age before dying, they may have to deal with mental issues such as memory, recall and cognition. Without these it is nearly possible to learn new complicated ideas then recall them to put to use

That's a non-sensical statement!! How old are you? How do you know how old the Op is?
I can assure you that decreased mental acuity comes with age! At least for some of us!!

Picasa is all that I have ever used and it has served me well. Almost NO learning curve and does everything I need for about 95% of my photos. The remaining 5%, I delete! I did buy Paintshop Pro a couple years ago. Yikes!!
