Love the photos. Will tell me when these photos were taken? Was it an early snowfall?

Replying to my own message. I was about to order the shutter release made by JJC but noticed it was not eligible for Prime and was clearly being shipped from outside the US, since it would be there between July 12 and Aug. 2. So I did a bit more searching and found this one: https://www.amazon.com/Shutter-JJC-Release-Controller-Olympus/dp/B00B8OGMZO which IS Prime eligible and does say it is compatible with the M10 MarkIII.

This is from Olympus website: Remote Cable Release (RM-UC1)

Sorry about that. The camera is the WiFi source the phone needs to connect to the camera.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve scoured Amazon pretty thoroughly and the ones I’ve seen fit the OM-D EM10 Mkii, not the Markiii. Apparently they have changed the ports on the camera.

I di have that Olympus app on my iPhone and have paired it with the camera. Just not sure how that works if I am not in a space with wifi.

The long-zoom bridge cameras are very hard to hold steady. What subjects do you like to shoot and are you for or against tripods?

How many mirrorless brands did you try holding? I have a Panasonic G7 and an Olympus D10 and they are shaped very differently from each other + lenses are excellent quality and the EVF's are fantastic. The 14-140 mm lens (equiv 28 - 280 in FF) I use on the G7 is nearly weightless

For my D10 I bought a 75-300 mm lens (double that for equiv FF view). The D10 has a great digital zoom function too.

Linda, you had me confused as to what an Olympus D10 is. I finally uploaded to Google Photos to see the camera info. For anyone that cares it is an OM-D EM10 II. Keep up your thoughtful answers to a variety of topics Linda.

I do crop, but I seem to get more noise than I like. Suggestions?

Try switching the camera from fx to dx, this will make your 300mm into a 450mm.

I see I was about 30 secs to late with my suggestion.

Here is the way it works. The lifetime warranty thingy is a no go. It is a catch. They promise a warranty and a few years down the line they have updated the product so it is not longer available. Then they do the good thing, that is the good thing for them, and they have a replacement already to go. The problem is the replacement is by far inferior to the one that you had purchased. Everything breaks down at some point. So buyer beware.

I can tell you one company that honors their lifetime warranty. That company is VACUFLO. My wife called for a service man to checkout our unit, purchased in 1998, when he looked inside the unit he said "you need a new motor and starting relay, and you are in luck, you have a lifetime warranty". Yes, we had to pay for the visit but the parts were no charge, about $250.00 worth. So yes, some companies do have and honor their lifetime warranty.
