On the Canon R5 i use manual mode and I control the f-stop,shutter speed, and ISO. With my controls I can change any of these to set the EC at zero or as I now expose to the right, I set it to +1. I do this by changing any one of the three dials depending on the specific situation. In an action shot I would not lower the shutter speed and in a shot where I want thin DOF I would not increase the f-stop. From this forum I learned that it is best to expose r to the right (ETTR)

Go into your Phone Settings, scroll down until you see CAMERA then then hit the ">" the first thing at the top of the page will show you Formats, Hit the ">" Turn on " Apple Pro RAW. Now go back to your camera and open it up. You should have a RAW icon at the top right of you screen. Here you can turn on an off RAW photos. If you turn it on, it will remain on for all your photos until you turn it off.

Thank you

I have a 14 Pro Max and the pictures I am taking are very impressive. For me it is a matter of always having a camera in my pocket and not missing shots as in the past. The only gripe that I have is that with the current set up, the default is to shooot JPEG. You have to remember to specifically turn RAW on. I would like to set it up so that RAW is the default. Does anyone know if that is possible?

None of us likes subscriptions. But with AI today processing capability is changing rapidly. At least, with a subscription based editor, your capability will be kept up-to-date as opposed to your one time purchase, which will be obsoleted fairly soon.

My 9 year old Grandson seems to be developing an interest in photography. He has taken some nice pictures with his Mom's i-Phone. He seems to enjoy taking some in B&W. It being the season for gifts, I was looking for suggestions for a good first camera. Probably a compact point & shoot. Something like an Olympus Tough series crossed my mind because it is more or less indestructible. On the other hand, it is not very compact. Thoughts?

My 16 year old grandson is now looking at colleges to study Photo Journalism. I started him at about 9 years old with a simple Fuji camera. Having a view finder that he could look through seemed to be the most important aspect. We initially concentrated on composition and subject and gradually introduced the technology of photography (exposure, DOF, etc). Today he is the official year book and sports photog at school. Oh by the way, a second order benefit for you is that whenever you want to upgrade your equipment you can justify it by passing down.

While stoping over in Ecuador in 2015, we had an opportunity to pass through the main square just before the President was scheduled to appear and give his weekly speech. I remember how intimidated I was by the look on the face of this policeman standing guard. But I did get up my courage and indicated to him that I would like to take his picture. What a surprise when he asked me to join him behind the shield and get both our pictures taken._____you never know and it always pays to ask.

I love them all, but there is something about the last one that is special. The lion in the tall grass is a great catch. Technically for me the fact that the lion is crisp while the grass and foreground are somewhat out of focus lends much to this picture. All in all, another fantastic set. By the way, your shots are so good that I hope someday that you would consider adding description of equipment, and technique. Again, thanks for sharing

Typically, a zero byte download means the file didn’t finish downloading. I would try downloading the file again, confirm the file size and try reinstalling.

Same thing happened to me and this was the solution

I’m going to have two a 24x16 metal prints done for a friend and I have a few questions.
One image is 7621 x 5081 MP that equals 317 ppi which is well above, what most consider, the 300 ppi ideal target. The second however was cropped deeper and measures 5265 x 3510 MP or 219ppi. What is the opinion of those who know more that I do, about the quality of the print done at 219ppi? I can run it through Gigapixel x2 but worry that it might become muddy or waxy as some seem to think can happen. These will hang in a private home and most likely be viewed from 3 to 8 feet away.

I print nearly all of my (19 x 13) wall hangers at between 2 and 3 hundred ppi and unless i get right up to them I cant see any issues. I also have done COSTCO canvas prints up to 40 x 30 at 200ppi and they look great on the wall. By the way, I use Gigapixel often and havent experienced any muddy or waxy effects.

I have a Cannon Pro 10 printer that can print up to 13" x 19". I have an image that is 8536 x 4558 that I want to print. If I print the image at 13" x 19" some of it gets cropped out which is not acceptable. I would like to use as much of the 13" x 19" paper as possible. What does the size of the image need to be reduced to so that as much of the photo paper is used and not be cropped?

I use LR 6.14 to process and Canon Print Studio Pro to print.

I am using Topaz Gig where I specify the dimension that I want in inches (19 by 13 ) and the number of pix per inch (I usually go for 200). I have the same printer and I almost always print 19 by 13 borderless.
