I'm sorry but there is a difference between "shouldn't" and "can't". Our first amendment allows us the freedom to photograph anything in a public place that isn't outlawed by a specific law. In most cases, that means everything. If you study the subject, you'll find that there are very few things that are protected from being photographed in public. The pepper spray incident at UC Davis is a prime example of how we should hold the police accountable for their actions. Furthermore, it's my understanding that a police officer is the only individual that can confiscate a camera as evidence, but even they cannot erase the contents. That is up to a court of law to decide. Please correct me if you think I'm wrong.

I purchase just about everything photographic from either B&H, Cameta, or Amazon.com. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I recently travelled to Europe for 2 weeks, hitting 3 countries and doing all my travelling by Air. Before I went, I bought a PacSafe Shoulder Camera Bag which holds my D7000, SB600 flash, 17-55mm lens, 105mm lens, and 35mm lens. It also has room for manuals, my SD Cards (I carry many and change them each day), and all my filters. I also purchased a Feisol carbon fiber tripod which only weights about 3 pounds and is small enough to fit in my large suitcase with my clothes. I purchased a Digital Foci 8 inch photo book to review my work each day. It will read all types of files, including raw. The only bag-checking I did was when I was forced to gate-check, which I think only happened once. Two bags, two weeks. It worked well for this 70 year old.

All the things you mentioned are included in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. If you have a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, you probably already have the program. I take some pictures for my office, and since they don't have the money for anything else, I simply use the Picture Manager to make adjustments. If you open a picture from your pictures folder, it will probably open in Photo Editor. In the menu bar, simply click on "Opne In", and you'll see the Picture Manager.

The SD card reader in my HP Pavilion Desktop computer quit working after about 6-8 months. I haven't tried to figure out why, but will certainly try the driver update suggestions I have read here. Since then, I have simply plugged my camera in to the USB port on my computer to upload my pictures to Lightroom 3. I recently had to have my hard drive re-formatted, and since then, with my camera plugged in to my computer, it doesn't automatically start Lightroom. Being that I'm not too literate with this sort of thing, I haven't been able to figure out why. So now I just start lightroom and tell it to import from the camera.

Hi! I arise most mornings around 3:15 AM. Usually to have B'fast, go to the gym, and then to work. But...on my 3-day weekends (which I have every week), I frequently journey out in the dark to take pictures using available light. Sometimes it's architecture, sometimes it's the landscape lit by the upcoming sun. I recently decided that I want all of my work to be labelled as "ART". Shortly after that, I decided I wanted to capture the human "SOUL". I am now trying to deciide the best way to do that. Once I complete the triangle, you'll hear more about it. I shoot with a Nikon D7000. I have Nikor 17-55mm, Nikor 35 mm, and Nikor 105 mm lenses. My favorite lens is my 105mm. It's also a macro lens. I process using Lightroom 3, Photoshop Elements 8 and NIK Software Suite. Oh yes...I'M 70 YEARS OLD.
