The Panasonic ZS70 has all the spec's your wife wants plus a fantastic LEICA 24 mm to 720 mm lens.

As most here have agreed, you should have used a 50 MM lens (Which is lighter then the one you used).
Shoot as wide open as possible, with a high shutter speed, and you may have to crank the ISO up too, and center the subjects.

I purchased a Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS70 for travel, have not been sorry. The photos have been fantastic.
Has more features then most will ever need or use. Has a Leica 24 mm to 720 mm lens. Need I say more?

I had the cataract surgery a year ago, and my vision is now 20/20. The surgery was a breeze.
They will not do both eye's at the same time, there is about a two week time period between surgery's.

This wasn't a portrait done in a studio, it was strictly a candid shot. The lighting WAS PERFECT
as it highlights the woman's "features" The Leica Lens on this camera is fantastic.

This women was about a block away.Taken with a Panasonic DC ZS70 set at 720 MM hand held. Cropped to
represent about a 1500 MM lens. The lighting was perfect!
