Tamron 15-30 f2.8 VC offers some answers but is a beast to hold. I am a really big guy so I don't notice so much. I take some interior shots in some old old country churches at dusk and dawn so having the 2.8 and the VC allows me to work without a tripod(some of the churches don't like that). Plus it was cheaper.
I carry an older Rebel I bought at a cheaper price in my pickup and in a tractor, places I feel uncomfortable carrying my nicer newer canon. Plus it is lighter but I find I have a more critical eye and print fare fewer of those shots. But I keep shooting just for the pleasure of it.
Look at changing lens first. Longer reach is better for the sports you are watching.
I loved the barns out there. The Tetons were so lovely/Users/harryd68959/Desktop/IMG_0423.jpg/Users/harryd68959/Desktop/IMG_0426.jpg
I have been somewhat unhappy with my Canon. I struggle to get the crisp clean images I get with my other lenses. My Sigma 85 seems to a lot easier to get a crisp colorful image. My canon 100 is way better. I read that the primes are always better. Has anyone tried the Sigma zoom next to the canon?
I agree with the last poster, if you enjoy doing it , do it. You can not base your enjoyment on whether it will please someone else. However you make not want to invest much more than your time in things that don't sell.
sorry, can't make it pretty
Really like them all, Children of the Sun?
Thank you all I bought the 85 f1.4 and the images are indeed glorious. But the weight is such that thank goodness I am a huge guy with really big hands.
Can you tell me what your common use for the camera are and what kind of lenses do you use?
I see quite a few of these on Ebay with as few as 450 shots up to 12000. I understand they are a special use camera but why are so many are turned back into be resold?
Following in love with your flower photos is so natural and that sustains you on to taking many many more photos and learning how to affect the outcome. Eventually you will be your own most difficult critic. The enjoyment from this first beautiful attempt will last forever.
