In the last 6 months, I've acquired three Art prime lenses. 24, 50 and 85. They are all that have been on my camera since. A true pleasure to use.

The new ART lenses are incredibly over engineered and robust.

If you don’t need the IS you can always opt for the Canon 85 1.8.
Its only a half stop slower and about $350. That leaves money for a second lens!!! Good luck!

The Sigma Art lenses are outstanding in image quality and sturdy build. For the best image quality the Sigma outshines the Canon. I have used the Sigma Art 85mm f1.4 and it is a beaut. Cheers
Sigmas Art lenses are among the best. The 85mm f1.4, was considered the best of all 85mm f1.4 portrait lenses, when released. It is not a lightweight though. An upcoming 105mm f1.4 Art lens is soon to come. To compete with Nikon's notorious 105mm f1.4. That's a heavy/big one too. With a tripod support.
Thank you all I bought the 85 f1.4 and the images are indeed glorious. But the weight is such that thank goodness I am a huge guy with really big hands.
