I do a lot of traveling mostly in the Far East, Central and South America. I keep a Cannon Sx 70 with a 40x zoom with me at all times and presently use a Tamaron 18-400 lens. My lens was made for Cannon but is mounted on a Sony. Carrying a bag full of glass and equipment would not work for me. While I know several people who consider a 24-70 mm 0r 80mm prime lens, these would not give me the range I need. Carrying additional glass and changing a lens would not work for me.

I am using the same glass since the film days so I don't see the problem. Today's lens are comparatively lighter than my old ones. I have gone from film to aps c and now full frame. In some cases I have used a Canon lens on a Sony full frame by means of an adapter. My present go to lens is a 18 400 which was made for Canon and mounted on a Sony full frame camera. Most of my glass is from old Sony/Minolta film cameras. Since my full frame is actually lighter then my older cameras I don't notice the weight . If you are using a neck strap you might want to consider a harness to put the weight on your shoulders rather than your neck. If weight is an issue, don't make the mistake of buying a camera without knowing how it feels in your hands.

Certain neurological responses are related to which hand is dominant. I wanted to see if the correlation held for color. Knowing which side of the brain is used to store information such as the past or future has some utility in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and psychotherapy.

I have used a mirco soft flight simulator while teaching. It seemed to cut down on some of the time required and enable students to practice at a lower cost. Many airlines and the military use a simulator (not Microsoft) in practice. It is safer and cheaper than crashing a plane.

interesting. I see pink and white. I am curious if their is a variation in terms of the dominant hand that corresponds to the colors seen.

I have had it on both eyes, each was several years apart and the last was about 15 years ago. There have been vast improvements since then. For example the first round I had visual problems for about ten days, Second operation was ten years later and I could see out of that eye with no problem the next day. If the operations were done today, I would no longer need glasses, I have read that the inserted lens could be progressive. If that is not the case, you could go for distance and wear glasses for close work. Because My great grandmother and a great aunt had to wear coke bottles on their eyes and one of them was still virtually blind I was terrified. But today, it is done with a lazier and you really don't have anything to worry about

I have a problem with a heavy camera hanging around my neck as well. You might want to try a harness instead of a strap, so that the weight is carried on both shoulders, or a belt rig.

Have you considered a different card. The problem could be with the card or the camera itself. If you have a second camera (even a point and shoot) take it with you and place it on the floor.

you can still use picasa. you just have to find an exe file to install it on your computer. I use picasa as an organizer but tend to edit in photoshop or elements unless I need something specialized like portrait professional
The only thing I can no longer do with picasa seems to be ordering prints from within the program.

Has anyone bought a camera from WISH? Typically they sell lots of cheap Chinese stuff, some decent laptops, tablets, fishing gear etc. I have bought stuff from them in the past. Slow delivery but great prices. Lately they’ve started listing some pretty decent if not outrageous deals on cameras, lenses etc.

Just wondering if anyone’s bought any photo gear from them.

Thanks all

I have not purchased a camera but have had several problems with Wish. Products not delivered, smart watches without a web address to obtain the software necessary. Items that were broken. Delay in delivery. Don't trust them.

I think not supporting the A mount is Sony shooting themselves in the foot. If I have to go out and buy new glass. I might switch to Nikon, since I have lenses that will work, or purchase a Cannon.

Ok, I am selling all of my Nikon equipment because I’m 72 and have arthritis in my shoulders and it is preventing me from holding a big camera. I need recommendations for a point and shoot that is good quality and easy to use. Or maybe even a mirrorless, but less than 1000.00. Sample pics if possible. I will use it mainly for pictures of my 1 year old twin grandchildren or my dogs. Thanks in advance for any information.

I am 76, the combination of injuries and a cancer that attacks my spine, along with injuries to my knees have made it difficult for me to use any camera that I might hang on my neck very difficult and painful for me. Even my lightest SLR or Mirror-less cameras are too heavy and can cause a lot of pain.
I have gone to using a Canon sx720 HS. I use one of those lanyards that you might see on a police whistle, around my neck. It is long enough to let me carry it in my breast pocket or even in the pocket of my jeans while keeping it from falling to the ground. The 40 mm optical lens gives me a lot of range. I also have a Sony RX 100 V. It is a bit faster but lacks the focal length. The screen on the back can be raised which in some situations might be a plus. For my purposes these cameras seem to outperform the older big guns.

I think you may need a second opinion and a new mechanic

You haven't mentioned what sort of pictures you takeor the conitions under which you would take them. I have friends who think 80mm is a very long lens, while I have a 28-300 on my cameras more than 90 percent of the time. I don't have the time to switch the lens, environment would often be a problem and often I am on the move. I can't carry much gear. The perfect lens for me, would be horrible for someone in a studio.

I shoot a lot of sports and love the The Sony Alpha a77 II DSLR Camera is a versatile and advanced digital camera featuring a 24.3MP APS-C-sized Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor to produce high-resolution still images and Full HD movies with marked low-light quality and sensitivity to ISO 25600. Beyond notable imaging traits, the image processor also lends itself to continuous shooting up to 12 fps for up to 26 RAW frames. It isn't a full frame camera, which means it provides a longer range, which is great for sports and wildlife, which I often shoot.
