I wonder if these vendors besides being trusting aren’t also smart like a fox. If they ship to you with an invoice, you normally couldn’t pay with a credit card. Therefore, they don’t have to pay the 3 or more percent fee to the bank. And they avoid the hassle of the CC paperwork. And losses, if any, are probably a lot less than that 3% so they can keep their prices lower as well.

I used to order wild rice from a place that operated in the same fashion. I once asked the owner if anyone had ever 'stiffed' him on an order. He said : "Yup, one guy did and he left town thereafter. But he eventually came back and I collected."

People are generally honest when given the chance.

I bought a Vtech home system within the last year. It has some really great spam blockers that you can configure as well as a BLOCK and an ALLOW list. In one case, it announces to the caller that they have to press a # in order for the call to go through. This allows any rare friendly caller to get through and it seems to discourage spam callers. I would guess I have only had about 2 spam calls in the last year. Another option (that I don't use) requires the caller to announce their name and a #. And then that name is voiced to the home and the call can be accepted or rejected.

I no longer use my CPR call blocker which wasn't near as good as the Vtech system.

I used to add on my answering message: "If you are trying to sell me something, please leave a message and tell me what time you eat dinner and I'll call you back then."

I tried to send feedback (or a complaint) to FedEx for dropping my package on the side of a road. I kept getting a msg while writing the complaint that "There are invalid characters" and it refused to let me go further. I spent about 40 minutes messing with the message trying to figure out the problem. The problem??? They don't allow ANY punctuation in the feedback message... no periods, commas, or anything beyond that. It has to be ONLY text!

I guess they don't want to hear from their customers.....

So here I am trying to send feedback to FedEx about this bad delivery and their email system just can't handle 'something' they think is an invalid character. Here's what I am trying to send: can you find the problem? (this is after a 1/2 hour of trying to send my feedback. Note: I have removed anything I think might be the problem.) Update: I found the problem and you won't believe it)

Your email system SUCKS. I am trying to send you some valid feedback and it keeps telling me that Personal message contains invalid characters Well, too bad. I guess question marks quotes Exclamation marks etc are too much for FedEx to handle. This goes along with the rest of your poor service which I am trying to tell you about.

I think this may top most of the non-delivery stories... Today I got notice that a pkg had been delivered so I went right out and found nothing. Then the FedEx note told me to look at the picture where it was delivered:

Would you call this a valid delivery??? I live a 1/2 mile down this dirt road and had to drive up to get the package, which fortunately was still there. Behind me is a busy highway with the package in plain sight!! Porch pirates or anyone else could have easily picked up the package. If I had my druthers, I would NEVER have another package delivered by FedEx and I may stop dealing with vendors who use FedEx.

Does it happen on a regular basis?
If UPS had the same instance and you quit ordering from companies who use them,
you'd no longer be able to get stuff shipped to you.
You could use Amazon.
But what if they have a hiccup.

Doo-doo occurs.

USPS took a week to get a small padded envelope to me near Philadelphia, from Portland, Oregon.
Originally slated for a Saturday delivery, then changed to Monday.
I still use USPS, as I do the other shippers.
I understand a "hiccup" now and then. br... (show quote)

My experience? YES, it happens all the time. Example: I had a delivery coming that Fed-ex said would be here on Saturday. Then they 'improved' the delivery to Thursday prior. Then they said again it would be here on Saturday. Saturday came and went and now it is due on the following Tuesday! This type of screw-around happens almost every time.

Found the filter but as a computer programmer of some 55 years, this change is a crock!

Hardly user friendly or intuitive. (Yes, I won’t let the door hit me as I leave.)

If you have a favorite section, subscribe to it. It will then show up in your list of subscribed sections whenever you open UHH (as long as you don't log out). No need to go through 'All Sections' to find what you want. If you are subscribed to a section you use infrequently, just unsubscribe and it won't clutter up your opening list.

Suppose I have 3 favorite sections. Does that still work?

So I have to go thru this loooonnng list of topics, just to find the section I used to have in front of me, and then I can go to that section like I used to?? Seems like a LOT of extra time/work for NO added advantage.

It seems to me that the majority of commenters are not in favor of "the new and the modern" version. As many have said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

To me, it takes waaay more time to go thru all the posts than before... not interested. Thanks

Don't like the new format. Was there something wrong with the old format? Were there complaints to fix a non existing problem?

I agree. It sucks and may be the end of looking at UUH for me . Don't see why the change was necessary.
