Bought my first camera (a Nikormat) in Pleiku, Vietnam in 1966. I was an artillery officer!!! Been working on some old pictures and slides lately!!
XQD not "just for video". Handles all photos faster. Not using an XQD means you are not using all the capabilities of your camera that you paid for.
Sorry, but I disagree. Have used these drives for travelling from India to Africa to the Amazon to Australia, etc, etc.
Every night I download every picture from every card twice: once to each 4TB hard drive (one is stored/carried in my carry-on and one in my wife's).
In 15 years I have never had a hard drive problem or lost even 1 picture. There are several brands in the same price range. WD, etc, etc. Anyway this approach has worked flawlessly for me!! E
I use a ZS70, my wife uses my "old" ZS60 and our adult daughter uses my even older ZS50 as our small go everywhere cameras. Great for grandkids, great for documenting an event, etc. Also shoot D850, D500 pair. ZS70 amazingly versatile, easy to use and very capable of producing great pictures and videos. Wide range of ways to use these little gems depending on situation and time/effort you want to take to capture a scene from full auto to manual settings.
24-70 of those two lenses but 28-300 would be better in my opinion. There is no lens that is perfect in all circumstances, so like life, you have to make tradeoffs
Panasonic zs70 is an amazing camera. wide angle to long zoom; can use with auto or manual settings. Always in my pocket or bag, really versatile and capable!!!!!!!!!!! I upgrade when a new version comes out. Wife has previous model and our daughter has the one before that. All used regularly. Shoot D500 and D850 a lot but almost never leave the house without the zs70. Check it out.
I am travelling in the Carib with D500, D850, 5 lenses, a lightweight laptop and a pair of small 2TB hard drives. Download every image to both hard drives every night (one travels in my carry-on and the other in my wife's carry-on). Go for it!!!!!
I always travel with a small lightweight Lenovo "Carbon X" computer with a pair of external hard drives. Every day (usually) all photos are down loaded to each hard drive giving me full backup in the field. Places like Galapagos, India, Tanzania, New Guinea, Amazon etc. Never lost a picture this way. I take one hard drive in my carry-on and my wife carries the other in hers. Price of those small drives is now quite reasonable and never had a failure in 15 years of travel.
zs 100 does a great job on auto if you want or focus, etc yourself but small pocketable. 700mm lens at long end, etc. Versatile small camera!!!

Similar problem when camera fell out of jeep in India. Mine was fixed by Nikon for very reasonable price.
