There seems to be a lot of interest in the P900 on this forum (and by me). Any additional info you can post would be appreciated.
If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, you might opt to go with a "Windows 7" based operating system rather than an "8". The Windows 8 systems are very different than what you have used (translation = hard to learn) and you can easily upgrade to the new Windows 10 operating system when it is released.
Pushing from 6GB to 8GB of RAM would also be noticeably better. If you can manage it. Best of luck.
I have the Tokina and very happy with it. There are two versions of the 11-16. The second version has improved autofocus, though I've read the first version might be sharper.
I shoot architectural and some landscape. For me it's very important to keep lines as straight as possible. The Tokina seems to do that well.
I shoot DX like you, mostly architectural photos. I had the Sigma 10-20 and then bought the Tokina 11-16 because it was a fairly cheap upgrade and had such great reviews. I'm very happy with the Tokina, but thought the Sigma was very good too.
After practicing wide angle for a while I agree with some of the comments written here by others. Strange things happen with angles and foregrounds. Much of this can be dealt with in PP, but you might not really need to go very wide in the first place. Good luck.
Groupon offering same thing brand new for $75. Sorry, but maybe a good resource for you too.
Disney should be fairly well lit. Faster shutter speed.
My research reveals it is a very low pixel count camera that is nothing more than a novelty. Theoretically, it gives you the ability to focus after the photo is taken. If it was really good the price would be higher. Just my opinion.
I saw the same ads and made the same mental notes as you did. Why put that confusing info there? It certainly does smack of bait 'n switch. Would seem more reasonable to just print with disclaimer relating to current market prices. Those ads, as printed, essentially state that if you want to know the price you must call B & H. Really useless.
Nice "nest". Sorry for typo
Great photo! Do you find yellow jackets aggressive? I have nice neat in my home right now. You've inspired me to try my hand. Looking for new lens now.
Impressed with your steady hand......
Thanks for raising this topic. It makes sense to me now that I've read the associated materials. Most SSD drives should be used as temporary memory just to speed things up when doing PP. Long term storage should remain on hard drives. At least that's how I see it.
Do you ever sleep? Great topic.
Hi Jim. Thank you very much for your well considered reply.
I suppose it will be better to spend just a little more and get something that will meet a minimum level of capable performance. I checked a little further and found this model:
Orion 8945 SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian Telescope
It is still just under $400 and seems nice. I suppose I could spend a little more if I could get a good steer.
Again, I sincerely thank you.
Mitch
Dear Fellow UHH members,
You've always been great with standard camera issues. Hoping a few may assist pointing me in the right direction for acquiring my first telescope.
I have two particular models in sight, but am hoping for someone here to enlighten me further. Figure I can start with something in the $400 range and upgrade myself whenever it seems right.
Here are those two models:
Celestron 22094 COSMOS 90GT Wi-Fi Telescope
Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT Computerized Telescope
This is my first post here. Thanks you for your help.
Mitch
Purchased Nikon 5300 kit at "C". No problems. Great return policy, if needed. No question that all articles there are authentic.
It is possible that the prices aren't the absolute cheapest, but from what I've seen their pricing is hard to beat.
The big "C" is a good place to start your kit with. They also sell SD cards and other electronics at good prices. Building your collection after the initial purchase is not as easy. For that, places like Adorama and B&H will be far better.
Unless you or your family suffered any real harm I wouldn't go legal with it. Life is short. Keep things positive and enjoy. I agree with those opinions here that you could contact the farm and possibly get copies of those photos and possibly foster a friendship instead of a dispute. After all, it must be a little flattering that they chose you for their newsletter!
