I use a similar Optech sling strap and realy like it. I attach the clips to a tripod plate as the camera hangs better that way and strap is completely out of the way when shooting.

The speed of the lens (think max aperture) makes a big difference in cost.

This comment from the movie Interstellar sums it up perfectly:

“We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

I like like that quote, no argument there, although I suppose they are using "impossible" not in the literal sense more in the "seemingly impossible" sence, because impossible is impossible unless we've change the meaning of that word too. However, I stand by my view, I'd rather be in Colorado, or at least the mountains than on Mars. Don't take my comment too serious as my humor apparently doesn't come through. But you're right, national challenges can pull people together for a common purpose and inspire future generations.

I like astronomy, have several telescopes and subscribe on and off to Astronomy and Sky & Tele magazines. I always get a chuckle on how many articles there are like this. "It might be this or it might be that or maybe nothing at all. Further research might tell us something or nothing at all."

Not sure why anyone would want to go to Mars, but my view might have something to do with the fact I live in Colorado. Sure a whole lot less to consider just sending robots, plus they're not as concerned if it turns out to be a one way trip.

I also had that decision, owned a d5100 and decided on the d7500 as it was newer, tad lighter and smaller. I travel and hike with and really like it. I also have the full frame d750 but the equivalent zoom lenses are bigger and heavier, it's also a very nice camera but I prefer carrying something smaller. If I had gone with the d7200 I know I'd be very happy with it as well. If it fits your budget better and you buy it don't look back there's not much advantage either way except for those who have specific needs, ie dual slots, grip.

You might try ACDSee it not as full featured as LR but it's very intuitive and has all you need.

Are you referring to an like an Apple iPad or more like Wacom tablet designed for digital artists and photographers? I use a Wacom and like it a lot but it takes some getting used to. It's less fatiguing than using a mouse and a little more natural.

Currently in the US both hydrogen and electric cars depend on fossel fuels. Either could make sense if we had more nuclear power plants. The energy audits seem to indicate that electric cars and ic cars polute about the same, that's a cradle to grave audit. France the electric cars polute less because a larger percent of their electricity is generated via nuclear power plants.

If you get there for sunrise you'll get pristine sand as all the footprints are erased from the day before by the nightly winds.

If that's all you need it for, only a few photos and you want to do it yourself you might consider something free like Gimp. As has been mentioned most or all will require time and commitment to learn.

There are many companies thatave paid no taxes like Verizon but this is a discussion for a different group.

Which is great for us because Corporate tax is simply rolled into the cost of the product or service. The citizen tax payer and consumer pays for everything. The US has one of the higher Corporate taxes rates which you and I pay for when we purchase their products.

I have 3, an early version of Black Rapid and a Peak Design. Both will outlast me but the Peak Design is more comfortable than the BR. But my favorite sling is the Optech USA because it's uses a stretchy neoprene. It's just more comfy on my neck when all I'm wearing is a Tee shirt. The material won't last as long as the other 2 but it's also the cheapest of the 3.
