I am on my third Fujinon 150-600mm lens. I really love the reach, lightweight and sharpness that's fine for my needs. But there is a reason I am on my third one. The first was purchased new and worked fine until I dropped it. Sent it to Fuji for fixing. Came back with unreliable IS - worked fine at times but other times rolled and/jerked. Sent back and waited. Problem not fixed but I know intermittent problems are hard to fix sometimes. So, purchased a nearly new one from Japanese dealer off Ebay. Within a few days, it was doing the same intermittent thing. Perfect sometimes; annoying other times. I have 2 Fuji X-T4s and the same lens issue when I switched the lens from one to another. Well, I finally opted for an X-T5 and got a brand new lens. Guess what... same intermittent problem. Rock solid sometimes but jumpy others. I can not figure out a pattern of when one way or the other. Flipping on/off several times does not resolve problem. Sometimes the problem does resolve after shooting a while. Most of my pictures fine but ...
My question, am I extremely unlucky or is there a design flaw in this lens or am I not understanding something.

I have the-150-600 and have had no such issues using it with my X-T5. Fujifilm also has a 1on1 tech support service which is no charge to use, I have found them to be extremely helpful.

I second Hudson Henry. He has a 4 part series on setting up the Z9/Z8. The first one is long, as he hits every menu item, but the next one is fairly short as your base bank settings are baked in.

Thanks for the info, I will take yours and mikeroetex advise.

Happy Holiday's and Cheers ~Kevin

Personally, I found the free videos from Hudson Henry on YouTube provided the best and most logical settings for my Z8. He gives a great starting point, and I only felt the need to make very few changes to match my personal preferences. I found Steve Perry, whom I respect greatly to have a bit of tunnel vision in his settings and Greengo seemed a bit generic. Try Hudson Henry. Great suggestions for all of the Banks. Easy to modify to your preferences.

Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll check him out.

Has anyone compared Steve Perry's setup e-book to John Greengo's setup guide? Trying to decide which to invest in.

Thanks!

Being a new Nikon Z8 owner, I have to ask all of you that own Nikon mirrorless cameras: Did you purchase with the adapter (like I did) so you could use your prior F mount lenses? Next question........did you purchase some Z lenses anyhow and how do you like them compared to the F lenses with adapter? Many thanks..............

I only have 1 lens left from my DSLR a 70-200 f2.8 FL ED so the answer is yes I bought the FTZ adapter. The Z lenses are lighter and the camera and lens setup is smaller without the FTZ.

Hi Jerry,

I see your recommendation for the John Greengo video series on the Z8. I'm watching him on Youtube, his style seems like a good style for learning for me. How do you find the series, very helpful?

This pro lens was my favorite lens when I was shooting Nikon, it's the non VR version. The lens is extremely well taken care of, the photos it produced are some of my favorites. It comes with the original box, soft case, lens hood, front and rear lens caps and strap. Price is $550.00 including shipping in the CUS. I accept Zelle and if you prefer Pay Pal you pay the Pay Pal fee.

Wasn't sure if this should go here or chit chat because it's a painting not a photo and I couldn't remember if you could post pictures in chit chat or not. Just remember, I'm old!!! (That excuse works for most other things...should work for this too)

I just want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. We all need to be thankful for so much.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
