So, it's going to be 12 degrees tomorrow morning when I leave for work.

Where is spring when you need it? Luckily, there are always photos to look at...

Does anyone have personal experience with the Sony RX100? I have thought about getting one for my knock about that I would carry all of the time. In the past I have used a Nikon Coolpix 10.2 meg but the damn thing got some moisture in it from a wilderness foray. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a Lumix and many of the photos I posted here were taken with it ... it fits in your pocket yet it's an amazing camera - and it was my first non-Sony camera since 1999! Got a great deal on it at Costco, too.

Last year a robin made her next in under my back yard canopy. She concocted it out of strings, ribbons, paper and a conglomeration of other things. I was so excited and got out my camera, being careful not to touch anything and trying to angle a shot in the limited space. I also had to wait for mom to leave.

Her eggs were beautiful and the day finally came when they hatched ... I felt like a new mom! Unfortunately, when I went out the following morning everything was gone but the nest and I still don't know if it was the neighborhood cat or what-all that took those little babies

Thanks everyone...I was able to capture this little guy over on the tree. They are so comical to watch. They always come down the tree head first. All while stopping occasionally to check out the surroundings. That's when they crick their little necks up to have a look. Here this one is checking his bearings to find the feeder. They have a quiet call that sounds like they saying "hummm, hummm, humm.

We don't have quite that much excitement in my yard ... really nice shots of these little guys. I guess I have to get my bird feeder out again and try to put it where Sammy, our squirrel, can't have at it!

To all: br br Thanks to all here for your kind me... (show quote)

Wow, Hershel, thanks so much! I think I will wait until the weather gets better. By the way, I just received the SONY battery I recently ordered online from B&H and it was a much better price than the SONY store was selling it for!

Thank you all for your input! I definitely will check out Unique photo, too. I just got a new SONY NEX-7 and will be needing a lot of bells and whistles for it since I unfortunately unloaded a lot of my stuff when digitals came on the scene.

Great advice from all of you -

My God, they're all beautiful, what are you people, wizards? So kind of all of you to help. I have had Lightroom 5 for about four months and attempted to remove the pole about 15 times but seemed only to make a mess of things. And yes, it is a N. Harrier, shot with a Canon 30D and a Canon 100- 400mm L lens. Now I'll be able to print a pole-less copy. Thank you all so much, Seamus.

I use Photoshop Elements. It's for people who can't handle the full Photoshop, yet it does most of the tricks of the trade. I've been using it and upgrading since it first came out years and years ago and I love it.

I got a pretty good shot of this guy, but had to break the "no feeder" in the shot rule. These guys will not sit on any of the branches I've attached to the feeder itself. This one came from high up in a nearby tree...flying straight to feeder and how you see him here. I tried to vignette out the distracting parts of the scene. I hope it's still an enjoyable image.

Why would you want to take the feeder out? I think it only adds to the scene ... he did come to chow down after all! Great shot!

I work in Manhattan and I'm within walking distance of both B&H and Adorama. While Adorama is like your local supermarket, B&H is like a warehouse shopping facility. I generally never go to either because I quickly succumb to the 'kid in a candy store' mentality and my wallet just can't take it. But I was wondering what others thought of the shopping experience online. Do you think B&H or Adorama offers the better deals when it comes to pricing and stock? I've bought online from both, but I just thought I'd check in and see what others think about the two, or if there's another photo store that's even better. (I'm an Amazon Prime member, so I do a lot of shopping on there, too.)

Thanks for your input!

Thanks for posting these shots eye707, very nice and the sand shots show the scale.

The sunset shot looks extremely calm and peaceful, well captured, I think it's my favourite.

This is the Mont St Michele in France, my image was St Michaels Mount in Cornwall, UK. I didn't previously know there were two very similar places so thank you for that.

Here is a link with a bit more information about the two http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/oth/msm-smm.html

Thanks for the compliments! I had a strange feeling that I misinterpreted your message, and your photo didn't look quite like mine (steeple), but I was so excited to have my memory jogged about that vacation that I just went ahead and posted. Fascinating information you sent regarding "your" island. And now it's another reason to get back over to England.
