Thanks for all the information. The online upgrade is probably the answer. Includes newer lens compensations as well.
Thanks
I am using LR 6.0. If I change to the new CC monthly payment for LR and PS, will it integrate with my current system when I download? I rarely use PS but use LR extensively. I use my own external HD as storage and file LR edits in the HD folder with a separate LR subfolder.
As a longtime plunger I have used a Nikon 100w. Remember if you are just observing, plunge is all over in minutes, no time for lens change. Have fun, get wet!!
Peak design is comfortable and safe great option. Easily interchangeable between cameras
Sorry but had to add these two
Enjoy your safari
Canon 80d. Also had t5i with canon 10-18mm . You can’t safely change lenses on safari with movement and dust
No need for more than camera flash, used once in native hut. Tamron fast and light and perfect for safari where tripod impossible and heavy glass inconvenient. See attached fresh off safari/ lucky enough to find rare leopard at Kruger
Enjoy your trip
Currently in south on safari and Tamron 18-400 is outstanding. You really can’t depend on a tripod for heavy glass . Versatility of long and short is excellent and animals may be far off but many close. Worked great in Peru and giant condors in flight
I was able to transfer 1000's of slides using good slide projector and tripod DLSR. These were more memorable slides than potential enlargements but resolution is very adequate and have emailed to others were good maintenance of resolution. There is no cost and if you need hi res transfer of few special ones, that is better investment. I was advised on this technique from local pro who transferred all my 8mm film and videos to VCR then DVD then flashdrive over the years as technology advanced. Give it a try. nothing lost.
Have never really needed 2x, may need tripod for that to be effective
The Tamron 18-400 is an excellent choice. I have used it with the Canon 80D and am impressed with its range. Bees to buffalo, great resolution and light weight.
I have been using Tamron 18-400 for about a year. Clarity is excellent from mountains to moose to butterflys. Also lightweight and comfortable hiking. Good investment
I use a lowepro slingshot 102 or 250 for equipment and the peak design strap system. Strap has a quick release camera clamp that can fit on belt or better yet on sling shot strap and is very secure and gives you both arms to hike.
I love the Lowepro slingshot bags. I have both the small and medium size. Cover works great in rain. Larger bag will handle 2 bodies and lenses - but is heavier. At 70 I appreciate the convenience and size.
Great results with Tamron 18-400 on Canon 80D and T5i. Well priced, not too heavy as walkaround lens and good resolution at extremes.
