Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome! Nope, Rich, my name has never been Asher, sorry :). Don, I left a table saw for Santa. It was very well received :).
Even Jester Park has a nice bird blind and wild life area :) and a pelican festival in the spring (I think it was spring
mighta been fall
)
Chichaqua Bottoms is a cool place, I went there for a winter festival a few years back, I don't know if they still do it but they had dog sleds, ice fishing, and all sorts of stuff. We spent most of our time cross country skiing. I have also canoed out there in the summer.
I'm in! I was in a group when I lived in Tennessee that would do an outing each month, I got to explore and photo some pretty cool places with them.

Welcome to the Hog and to the large group of happy SX50 users that are on here!! LOVE mine!!
Thanks Wahawk. Shucks, I thought the S5IS was the bomb when I got it (five years ago it was the bomb) but this chunk-a-black blows that poor guy's doors off! I braved the cold the first week I had it to take pictures of the moon, people thought I had pictures of pictures of the moon!
Hello,
I have been a photography enthusiast since the middle '80s ('70s if you count the 110 instamatics :) Santa brought me a Canon SX50 for Christmas to replace my old S5IS. Santa is the coolest!! I find that a new toy gets the creative juices flowing all over again.
I have been lurking, and reading, and oohing, and ahhhing
and, most of all, learning on this forum for a couple of weeks. You all are a wealth of knowledgeable information!
Thanks so much,
Sondra
