Hello,

I have been a photography enthusiast since the middle '80s ('70s if you count the 110 instamatics :) Santa brought me a Canon SX50 for Christmas to replace my old S5IS. Santa is the coolest!! I find that a new toy gets the creative juices flowing all over again.

I have been lurking, and reading, and oohing, and ahhhingand, most of all, learning on this forum for a couple of weeks. You all are a wealth of knowledgeable information!

Thanks Wahawk. Shucks, I thought the S5IS was the bomb when I got it (five years ago it was the bomb) but this chunk-a-black blows that poor guy's doors off! I braved the cold the first week I had it to take pictures of the moon, people thought I had pictures of pictures of the moon!

I know how you feel about that camera! I first bought the SX40 and then just HAD to get the SX50!! Sure beat anything digital that I had before!!
