To me the important thing in life is to "try" to take everything in stride. I have learned that the most important word in the dictionary is "attitude".
On my 105th birthday, I'm going to shoot a 102 on the golf course, then, in the afternoon, get shot by an irate husband as I'm diving out of the bedroom window.... Yup, that's the plan....
When I want to use the best butter I go for Irish Gold. It is pricy compared to store-brand butter but I can tell the difference so I hope those who are served in my home will enjoy the difference.
My wife (a gourmet cook) agrees with you. As for me . . . I do not know.
There hasn't been much discussion lately about true pocket cameras. (Ones you can actually slip into a front pocket or cargo pants side pocket.) I know cell phones have encroached in this domain, but I curious if hoggers have a preference as to currently offered models and which one is the best.
I have a Canon Powershot A1200 (also available as slightly upgraded A1300). Certainly not in the SLR field . . . but quite a credible piece considering it's low price and it will fit in my shirt pocket hanging on a neck strap . . . probably still available used for under $100. I think it is much nicer to use as a real camera, that has a genuine viewfinder than most all cell phones have.
My opinion: When streaming was started . . . it was mostly about getting the public "hooked". Now as planned . . . it is mostly about raising the price as much as traffic will bear. I think it's mostly about money!
Indeed. There are many options when it comes to composition and they're worth exploring (and ideally understanding). Sticking with filling the frame is the equivalent of carrying only one tool in your toolbox.
I just compose with what I have available, adjust to my liking in post if necessary.
Much of these comments are opinion . . . as it should be. Many/most of photographs I sometimes look at that friends/people took (in my opinion) could be improved by "filling the frame". Let me qualify this further by saying (again in "my opinion") I am talking mostly about photographs of people. How many times have you looked at someone's photo that depicts someone or perhaps a couple filling only 25% or perhaps 1/3rd of the frame when it could be more of a close up and one could then see the people in the photo better. And for the third time . . . "in my opinion".
Sounds like a good idea you have. However the economics of the situation have changed. I had a paper route when I was a kid. This was back in the mid 40's when almost every house on my route subscribed to The Seattle Times. Not so today. Very few subscribe today . . . probably mostly because of the high cost of delivered newspapers. Also I think it is too bad that kids no longer get the newspaper routes. Nowadays paper routes are delivered mostly by men (and sometimes women) in their cars and pickup trucks. Some people do not realize it . . . but times are tough in this income bracket. I went on to become a printer at the same newspaper that I delivered in Seattle and stayed there for 47 years before retiring at 65 years old. The last 20 years of working I was doing typesetting display ads on a computer. Today my old job does not exist. The type is now set in Japan and sent electronically to Seattle by wire. I now read the Manchester Guardian usually on my cell phone. I think it is the best newspaper I ever read.
Here are reliability ratings based on owner reports to Consumer Reports. I just signed up for their online subscription, and I get several newsletters.
I have used this reliability report most all of my life and it has served me well. Too bad American cars are not doing better. I'm especially sorry to see Lincoln so low on the list.
I need suggestions on cutting our $305 monthly bill from Spectrum. (It just jumped $18 monthly in one increase and is getting absurd) We would like to use Spectrum only for internet and then get TV streaming through another service provider, but totally confused with talk about Roku, Tivo, Fire sticks, Sling etc. If we use Spectrum internet, can someone identify a simple solution to use with our Samsung Smart TV without using an antenna? Wife insists on at least having Newsmax, HGTV, Hallmark channels and Fox News. We do not use premium movie channels. Will it be as simple as getting Spectrum internet and a streaming service like SLING? Is HULU a viable service? Thanks for any help you can give.

I sympathize with you. Unfortunately it looks like the "TV PLAN" including almost all the TV reception media is intent on raising prices when they can and do not have to. Yes . . . it seems to be all about more profit . . . for CEO's, board members and stockholders. Look for a future of much higher TV watching cost.
