I use it all of the time. Here's an article that tells some of what it can do. https://digital-photography-school.com/irfanview-free-program-for-your-editing-toolbox/

Do not be afraid to bump up your ISO, especially on a full frame. Shoot in Raw so you can better adjust your white balance letter on.

I am writing this on Monday morning, so it's to late for anyone to learn how to do this. I didn't get any fully eclipsed shots last night.. A few thoughts.
1. It's very hard to do when it is -15F degrees. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.
2. The fully exposed moon was very high overhead which adds to the issues of finding it and focusing
3. Focus is super super critical. Go into manual focus with live view and magnify 5 or 10 times. You will also see how steady your tripod is.
4. Use a manual release, or 2 second delay. I should have done motor locking, too.
5. The fully eclipsed moon is very dark. It is hard to find in the viewfinder or on the live view screen especially when it is 15 below and you're looking high overhead. You can zoom out to find it, then zoom in and then you'll want to refocus. By then your neck hurts and your fingers are frozen.
6. You will have to experiment with exposure settings. F stop, ISO and shutter speed all come into play.
7. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. There will not be a good total Lunar eclipse for North America for a while. Here is a website shooting when and where. https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/list.html

Even though you mention low light, check your focus accuracy. Put camera on a tripod, turn off autofocus and use live view in magnify mode to nail the focus. If the images are good in this situation on the 7d, then it could be your autofocus fine tuning.

I use a Canon 15-85. It's not an L lens, but it is better built than a kit lens. I really like being able to get down to 15mm on a crop sensor. I find that a 24-70 isn't wide enough for me.

While there are lots of reasons to cull down your photos and going through them is very rewarding, LR can easily handle a catalog with 20,000 images. You might want to import them all now and use LR for the culling process. You could use it to rate your photos with stars or color ratings, you could add keywords, organize them into collections and of course mark them for permanent deletion.

We will be taking a tour for 7 days in Costa Rica. Sights include River boat ride and the cloud forest. I will be bringing my Canon 7d Mark 2 and a 15-85 lens as my primary lens. I need to pick one additional lens. Either a 70-300 f4-.6 zoom or a 90mm f2.8 macro. I enjoy shooting landscape as well as wildlife the most but still enjoy taking some flower photos. Which lens shall I choose?

I just ordered a Canon TS8120 printer. Did I do the right thing? I want a printer that does a decent job on photos but can also work for everyday use such as printing webpages and documents etc and scanning/copying.

In 2 weeks you will have a full moon. That will totally wash out the milky way.

My 15-85 is BY FAR my most used lens. It vignettes some, but it's easily corrected in Lightroom. It's never been a concern.

I have the 70-300. Love it, but probably not enough focal length for astrophotography. Your field of view at 300mm is about 2.9 by 4.3 degrees. The moon is only 1/2 degrees.
