The dictionary has the alternate definition as breaking into software to change the code. How about a taxi driver? How about a bad doctor? Not liking the alternative definitions of words will result in changing the definition. How about the terms woke people are using? How about people choosing what sex they are referred to?

[Jerry, I am 81 years old and have never seen black concrete blocks or cinder blocks. I am from Ohio. Always the light grey cement ones. Maybe you are from Appalachia where they have more coal than cement. The black ones in the picture are obviously cement blocks painted black.

I drove 470 miles yesterday, with a lot of that on the Mass Pike. Fortunately, all their toll booths have been replaced with overhead transducer readers, so there are no lines at toll booths. What surprised me is that people from MA pay a lower toll that others. Since they use it more, I would think they would pay more. Of course, having everyone pay the same amount makes more sense. My Fit averaged 47.5 MPG for that trip.

Although the human toll collectors either lost their jobs or gotten transferred, it's common knowledge that toll takers pay a heavy toll in their health as they work. They have cars stopping and accelerating just a couple of feet away from them during their entire shift. Without special respirators, they are breathing in all sorts of undesirable stuff.
I drove 470 miles yesterday, with a lot of that on... (show quote)

Back in the '90s I read that the toll collections on the Mass Pike from the NY state line to Springfield did not cover the toll collector's salaries.

We are doing a self drive tour of Iceland. The ‘Into the Glacier’ tour is recommended. It is a visit inside a manmade tunnel into a glacier. Has anyone done this tour? 4 hours. $175. There is sooo much to see—-is this worth the time? Any recommendations for off the beaten path but pretty accessible sites would be appreciated. 2 weeks is clearly not enough time! Thanks.

Go to the Perlman Museum in Rejkavic has simulated glacier tunnel plus much more. Stay at City Center Hotel. Golden Circle. Blue Lagoon. Tomato Greenhouse(Fridheimar) Southern most city of Vic and Puffin Hotel. Glacier Lake. Giant waterfall. Most Northern point and lighthouse. Northern Lights Hotel. Great rooms and food. One of my most memorable trips. Great phone service if you use tmobile.

I switched from using android for 20+ years to iPhone 13 max pro. Took some time getting used to the change which I expected at 80 years old. But I was a rocket scientist so not too bad. I have an iPad Pro and MacBook Air so they all tap;k to each other without my assistance. And they all talk to my Tesla so life is good. I got started with computers in the mid 80s using Apple products at work so some of the new experiences were deja vu.

I took an iPad and iPhone. I rented a car without gps and used my iPad for gps around the country. I have mobile which has an agreement with the Iceland com company. No data limit. $.25 minute for phone calls but I emailed. I drove off the road and used my phone and iPad gps to get a tow truck to pull me back on the road. Easy peasy.

I have made two long road trips with my Tesla since buying it last August. One roundtrip from Las Vegas to Cheyenne. The other from Las Vegas to Nashville. Both round trips. On the first trip I got very anxious when at one recharge I had only 15 miles of charge left before plugging in at a supercharger in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming. Returning home from Nashville we stayed overnight in New Mexico at a hotel that had a supercharger. I charged up in the morning. The outside temperature had gone down to -12 F. It took a half hour after plugging in before the car would start taking a charge. It took another 45 min before the car was fully charged. Both situations were eyeopening experiences. I have learned to trust the car and when it says where to charge the car that is where and when I charge the car. I have a charger at home and I have solar panels. I pay nothing for charging the car. My monthly electric bill is $15. Charging the car on the road costs around $10. The car has a range of 325 mi.

My Sony Nex a7 will respond to a shutter press with "camera error" message and lock up. I have to turn off and on to get it to respond. After trying several things I found out that releasing the flash the camera will work ok even without the flash activating. Any suggestions on how to carry on?
