On one of my many visits to the infamous Mabry Mill along the Blue Ridge Parkway, I decided to back-track the water stream that feeds the water wheel. Way up on the hill, I came upon this striking play of shadows.

Beautiful shots and shadow play!!

On a windless afternoon low tide, the sun is just right to capture exposures with great reflections in the mash pond behind my house.

Oh how beautiful a picture that is, mh! The reflection is awesome!

Lorraine & I went down to our favourite beach this morning, Semephore.
When we left, we just drove down the road a short distance to the Largs Pier Hotel for coffee.
A few guys rolled up on their Harleys, looks like they spent the morning polishing them for the ride...

A fun trip for you and Lorraine and another beautiful set, ron!

Just stepped out of the truck when I spied these guys headed straight at me. Grabbed the Z9 with 600pF attached and started shooting. Slewed the camera as I tracked the geese flying by, for about 270 degrees. Hit the buffer twice! Very close by as they flew to the fresh water flowing out of Big Mission Creek.

The crappy, gloomy, dark weather can be noted in the first shot-rain and fog-40F lite breeze, 12:05 PM PST. One may see the rain drops in the water around the geese.

Cackling geese? Note the rounder head, the off-white chin patch, the almost all white tail... and they are smaller. No squawk while flying either. For those who care-1/2500, f6.3, no EC or added/changed backgrounds. Compositional crops only. This 600pF renders some beautiful backgrounds...

Download and enjoy!

This set includes the last of my flower photos. I doubt that I will be posting any more until Spring arrives.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Beauties, mike, to brighten up a frigid winter's day!!

I have seen a lot of these beautiful reflections from my window, but thankfully, this was one of the times I wasn't too lazy to walk down to the water with the camera ⭐🤗⭐

When I was a kid we called these grebes helldivers. When they dive you never know where they will emerge or how long it will be until they do.

I've never seen a sky split neatly in half before. Warmer colors where the sun is rising and cooler colors in the shade. Hope you enjoy.

That is an amazing and unusual sight, bill. Oh the joys of rising early. Pretty picture!
